Book: Fake Me A Match by Lauren Barnholdt
Genre: YA - Middle grade romance / drama
Rating: 3 out of 5 (***)
My Review:
This was a nice, cute and light read. It was funny and made me laugh out loud in a lot of scenes. It also provided an insight into inner psyche and ramblings of a 13 year old. There were times Avery (MC) would go on and on about nothing specific just ranting. I found it a bit annoying at times. Also Avery going back and forth about Sam also got on my nerves.
I've read other books of Lauren Barnholdt like Two-way Street and Sometimes It Happens. Those both books were waay better than this one. But probably b'coz this book is for much younger readers, and that came as a surprise for me. Having read Lauren Barnholdt's other books which were not really for that much of younger readers, I didn't see this coming and that probably counted towards my 3 stars, since I had much higher expectations.
Overall, it was not a bad read and would recommend it for middle grade age readers and also if you are looking for a cute and light read.
