Review: The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen
« on: August 28, 2011, 08:22 AM »
Name of the Book: The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen
Genre: YA - Paranormal Romance
Rating: 5 Stars (Yay)

I loved this book. Allison van Diepen had done a great job with this one. I'll definetely check out her other books.

How many of us had wished a book character would be real? I wished so many of them were true I don't even have to count. Well in this book Amy (MC) also hopes that 'Alexander Banks' from her fave Vampire book was real too. Well the difference between Amy's and my hope, is that her's came true. Alex is Vampire hunter from the book and he ends up in "our" world chasing vigo the vampire. In doing so he saves Amy from Vigo. From here on story goes on to be funny at times (when Alex is fascinated by stuff like TV, Computer or Cellphone), dramatic (not too much, just the right amount), and action filled.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book, it's characters, story....everything. I'd definetely recommend it to anyone interested in a light read.

@Livinginbooks:  Its been on my TR list for a while now. Having read ur review (5 stars) means it gets to the top of the list (after MI and Jace) :)

This deserves a new discussion topic/list of its own. As you said, we can call it the "For Desperate Times" list. The only thing is, with so many good books areound, how desperate can one get? We may have to call it the "Avoid at all costs" list. :)

LOL. What about a "Do Not Fly" list for books? I love the listopia idea. Maybe it could be a part of the discussion board?

Agree. And we already have two entries for the hallowed list from the review section - The vampire stalker & Tris and Izzie.

In my opinion, The Vampire Stalker is a good book and its characters develop well through the stories. The very concept of meeting one's favorite book character was amazing but the explanation of the existence of literary physics sort of ruined the great anticipation. There could have been thousands of other mystical explanation presented. But all in all, a very good book. If you want to have a nice read ( I finished it in three hours), it is recommended.
