Book title help?

I was wondering if anyone could help me... A few years ago I was in my english class and this guy mentioned this murder mystery book where the protagonist/main character who I believe was narrating the story ended up being the killer and the reader didn't find out until the end of the story. I've tried to look for it on google or whatever but that is all I know about the book and haven't been successful in my attempts to find it. If someone could point me in the right direction I would be so grateful!
