Oh. Oh. Oh. French pronunciations - what I will never get is why its not written as pronounced. It looks very pretty but pronunciation always gets me really? lee-breary.beebliotech. See, I'm pretty sure I'm $crewing it up despite our kind liexo's help
Can you speak french??
Do you think? No way. I understand some words when its typed, but basic Japanese is all I can claim to speak.
It's pronounced exactly as it looks. But then the only phonetic system I know is French. You have to remember not to have a lazy mouth and face when you speak French. You actually use your face muscles to say the words. If you do it correctly, your face should be sore after talking French all day if you are not use to it.
Italian is almost the same, but they don't have our 'on', 'an', 'oin', 'eau' etc ; they pronounce all the letters...French language might be beautiful, but it's full of grammar rules, full of exceptions !
German doesn't have that many rules, and they are no exceptions to them. The people are straightforward, and square thinking, and their language is the same. What's hard is german is the end of their words, depending on it's role in the sentence : if it's subject, it'll end this way, if a complement of some kind it will end that way, and this way if it's possession.... and their neutral person (if I can say) is not the only one used for inanimate objets ; in english, if it's not alive or a person, it will be 'it'. Not in German.
