Beautifull, but it is terrible! Blindness by José Saramago. Humans at their worst but so believable... I think that's the worst about it, we totally believe that if that happens people will do everything he wrote, if not more..:

I made the mistake of buying an English version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's The Autumn of the Patriarch (1975). I got to the third page before trashing it.Unfortunately it made me biased, and I never attempted the original one to this day.I guess I am not yet to the point where I will be motherteresified.
Oh, another one: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Philip K. Dick). I think I had higher expectations becasuse I saw the movie first, and liked it, and the book is more a basis for it, and not what I expect it to be.
