Anyone know this old-ish children/teen book? It's driving me nuts.
Hi! I'm looking for a children/teen book that I read when I was younger that I'd like to re-read :)

All I remember is part of the plot line of course...no useful title or author  :P

So to start two teenagers (boy and girl, cousins maybe? friends) find a stone/rock in an abandoned quarry after or during a thunderstorm. (The stone glows?, something to do with lightning maybe?) ....I think they got some powers or something but I'm hazy on this part,

....but while they're on a plane it crashes except they wake up in a different world (fantasy/medieval with elves, dwarves, magic) they meet a young man who was an apprentice or slave to a wizard and was cursed with green? skin. They have to help save the world or something... at the end they can travel back to their world (during the book they met at a forge made of meteorite i think and after some magic they are informed that they could get home but decade(s) will have passed in their world, despite less than a year passing in the fantasy world...

and at the end they wake up in the farmers field the plane crashed in but decades later and the parents/aunt had still stayed by the phone waiting for news of them....

I thought the book was called something like touchstone, lightning stone, thunder stone, but no luck finding it. I think its definitely earlier than the 2010s, but beyond that, no idea about author etc!

I would mention I live in Ireland and I read it in english. My brother has no recollection of it. I think I read it in end primary school or beginning secondary school so could even be before 2005-ish?

Hope this helps! Please help. It is driving me nuts, I know I didn't make this up or dream it!  :D

Hi all,

I need help in tracing a book.

I've been trying to get the book that I read sometimes back but I can't  seems to trace it in my ebooks. I thought that it was a Judith Mcnaught, then a Jayne Ann Krentz, desperation got me to Susan Elizabeth Phillips  :) but none of books that I have from the authors is matching with the book that I am looking for. This is what I can remember:
H was a college professor or something like that. He grew up in a magician caravan and his specialty was something to do with a whip. H and h are forced to marry. H specifically didn't want kids but one of the H/h's guardian  gave the h vitamins instead of contraceptives. h gets pregnant and H wasn't happy about it and I think he wanted her to get rid of it. I remember there was a stage performing accident where the H hit the h with a whip while he was performing. It was an accident and H was very remorseful but the h didn't believe him-h thought it was payback for getting pregnant. h runs away but they get back together when she was like 3-4months pregnant........
I can't remember much more and I hope I am not mixing up books.

I will appreciate your help in getting the book.

Thanks.

I wish I knew! :'( but the last Nora Robert that I read was the Villa and that's a while ago, so I'm doubtful.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Hi

I was scrolling through this topic and my cell developed some problems. When the page reloaded, I couldn't locate this book anymore ...

Just some bits I read in the synopsis ... heroine is found beaten up, the phrase 'heroin under her nails' is used. Hero is special agent, Matt I believe and he sets heroine up and uses her as pawn in his investigation ...

So sorry to post here but if someone could help me .... please

Need Help Finding Book Title
« Reply #448 on: September 28, 2017, 04:44 AM »
Looking for the name of this series of paranormal fantasy books with a female police officer / enforcer who is teamed with a new male partner.
Hell, or something like it is a sublevel to the city they live in & both cops end up going there to meet with a demon businessman (the devil?).
It turns out that the demon businessman is this woman's father.
I also vaguely remember a vampire nightclub being featured in these books.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I've read that many books they all get muddled in my mind  :D

I'd appreciate any help :)

Hi all, trying to find a romantic suspense.  She is an author and he is a cop/detective.  It starts out at a place to eat where he is with 2 of his friends and watches her run past the window.  He meets her during a botched jewelry holdup where someone is shot.  Other things I remember are: She stays in a not so safe neighbourhood, She gets pulled into interrogation as he believes she is part of the robbery crew, she goes to some criminal guys funeral and she is kidnapped when the car/van she is in crashes into the river.  I have been searching for ages and am having no luck  :banghead: :021:.  Fingers crossed the PTS team/readers can point me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance

That's definitely a scene from Caught in the act by Lori Foster!!
I remember this book, the heroine Delilah piper was such a crazy author..trying to get research materials from the horse's mouth...what with hotwiring cars, jumping without a parachute, driving her car off a bridge...damn!! And our detective Mick Dawson now that's one hottie!
I'm sure this is the one you're looking for but I don't know if they have it here.
Pls check the book on Goodreads:

If you're still interested, I found this:

Out of Time . . .
Beaten and left for dead, Juliet awakens in the rain with no memory how she ended up on an isolated road. No memory of the blood on her clothes. Nor the heroin under her nails. After another attempt on her life, she’s forced to rely on a man who’d rather lock her up.
Injured drug agent Matt Barnes has seen just about everything in a decade battling the worst humanity has to offer. But he’s never seen anything like Julie. The beautiful blonde reminds him more of sorority Barbie than a ruthless drug kingpin. But appearances can be deceiving. He’s got the bullet hole to prove it.
Julie’s memory is all he’s got in a case going nowhere. To erase the worst mistake of his career, his team will utilize her to lure the most dangerous drug lord he’s ever battled. But will the woman he’s fallen in love with ever forgive him for making her the bait?

Hi everyone,
This book just popped into my head and I cannot remember what the title is...
It is a historical romance
Hero is a some type of english nobleman
The heroine is also an english lady.
The thread of the story is: the heroine goes to a girls school paid by an old wealthy nobleman as her parents are broke and in exchange for his financial support he gets to marry the heroine when she is old enough. He controls her whole life, what she eats what she wears everything. Somehow when she gets older she escapes his controlling ways and gets together with the Hero and marries him. At the end of the book the parents "give" the heroine's younger sister to the old guy since the heroine was no longer available. The heroine goes to the old guys house to save her sister and somehow the old guy gets shot. the hero and heroine take in the sister.

Hey, guys, I'm trying to find a book, I think it may have been a coming of age book, not sure, but I know it was some kind of time period kind of novel, and the main character collects/sells moths in order to go to school.

« Reply #456 on: November 26, 2017, 03:16 PM »
Several years back, when I was only just discovering epublishing and it's vast array of delicious smuttiness, I read a blurb. Yes, that old chestnut. It was a SF type thing, set on a small spaceship, in the future, I think possibly pubbed by Ellora's Cave, maybe Samhain, who the heck knows. And even more problematically I'm not 100% whether it was m/m or m/f. I lean slightly to m/m in my vague, very fuzzy recollection, but just barely. However the hook that holds me is this - it involved a sex championship!! I think. Basically my memory says two people are hurtling through space in a hurry to get to some big sex competition that one of them wants to enter. I think there was either a normal partner absent or a potential one to impress. So one of them, the hopeful entrant (ha-ha), I feel it's a man, needs to practice! You know, by having relations. With the other person, possibly another man, possibly a woman, maybe a three headed yellow geranium, who can say? And en route to the sex competition, practising technique, lurve comes.
For years I've vaguely hoped this book might appear, it tickles randomly at the back of my brain like an irritating mozzie and I need to swat it! So please, if any of this, anything at all, sounds familar, please tell me the title and author so I can vanquish my foe.

need help finding a book
« Reply #457 on: December 30, 2017, 03:05 PM »
I would really appreciate some help. I cannot remember the title of this book or the author.

I believe it is 2nd in a series - or at least early in the series.

Romance novel/ paranormal
heroine is 20's and has white hair
Her parents are deceased - she believed her brother was but he turned up and is something medical.
it turns out the brother and her have some special skills
the brother is in very little of the book - he asks his friend to watch over her
of course - both the friend and the sister don't like each other
the heroine was adopted I believe and her father is very strong warlock/wizard or something
the friend/hero and his kind are very strong - not human but they can be enslaved by these wizards
the friend/hero had been enslaved prior to this book at some point in the past
the heroine had been on a trip to maybe Nepal or some such and was given this pendant/talisman something like that

it turns out that the hero's kind can have their essence put in these type of talisman/ pendants and that her talisman/ pendant is a formerly living person who had his essence turned into the talisman/ pendant

She is basically addicted to the feeling of the talisman/ pendant
She and he smoke this type of substance to help her withdraws
They fall in love as they have to rescue each other
He takes her to his house after they are attacked at her apartment
her father is trying to get her
they mentally tie themselves together
he turns into something when they have sex - but it's still human-ish// he has wings
to save her - he allows himself to be taken by the warlock
he is on the surgical table to be cut open and made into the talisman/ pendant - but she comes in and helps save him

she is able to click his people out of the spell that enslaves them.....

TIA

Hi, can someone please help in identifying this book? I had read it a few years ago and it was about some tycoon/billionaire kind of guy who was looking for his missing fiancee/wife and finds her half-sister who looks like her and mistakes the sister to be her. For some reason that I can't remember, she tags along with him and they both end up falling in love. I can't remember when he finds out the truth but I remember that he finds out from the sister that his wife had been aborting her pregnancies and that he initially had seen and been attracted to the half-sister but pursued a relationship with his wife, mistaking his wife for her. Thanks!
