I’m trying to find a alien romance series
« Reply #581 on: June 28, 2023, 03:35 PM »
Looking for a book about aliens who find their mates in human woman ..
One book is about a woman who is getting a divorce so she goes on vacation to a bed and breakfast and after she arrives she goes for a walk and falls through a portal and ends up on a different planet and she ends up falling in love with one of the alien men

In another book they build a portal to travel to earth to bring human women to their planet to fall in love with and they bring back a woman who is dying and they heal her and then they bring her grandfather who owns the bed and breakfast

In another book they bring a woman there and she ends up living next door to one of the men who I think is on the council and he has a pet dog thing named cebalt and they end up falling in love and she is attacked and almost killed but they put her in a tube like thing to heal her and then man gets her a pet dog and she names it talbac then men build domes for the mated males and females to live in and they have kids and the clothes come from a replicator and they use sponges for pads for there time of the month and they have dances

Hoping someone can help me remember the title of this book...

  • FMC is the Executive at a company she inherited from her fatherr
  • MMC is her assistant (and secretly in love with her)r
  • FMC wants to buy a property (I think it was a hotel) from a reclusive millionaire, but rumor has it that recluse is old fashioned and won't
  • consider an offer from a female execr
  • FMC and MMC go to meet with him, but pretend MMC is the bossr
  • Later on, we learnt hat the MMC is actually overqualified to be FMC's assistant but when he first saw her he fell in. love and realized that she was married to her work. he took the job to get close to her and hopefully get her to open up over time and see him as a future partner

note: it think FMC was engaged/married to a gold digger before taking over the company which is also why she's so focused on work

Have you found this book? It rings a bell but I can't place it.

Hi,
I don't remember a ton of details... but remember a few very specific ones so hoping someone might be able to help me find this contemporary romance:

  • FMC is preparing to go off and start a new life in NYC after living in a small town her whole life (I believe as a teacher)
  • FMC is a virgin, which shes ashamed of, and she convinced her brothers friend (MMC) to have a summer fling with her -- he ultimately agrees to
lots of steamy sex and costumes (at one point there was a harem girl costume too)
  • MMC starts falling in love with FMC but he feels locked down to staying home because his parents are getting older and he's the only one who can take on the work with the farm for his dad.
  • MMC ultimately breaks up with FMC before she leaves (I think right after sex)
  • After FMC leaves, she misses MMC and he misses her. MMCs parents tell him to go after her and that they can get the farm to survive or will sell if its not his dream. MMC shows up on FMCs doorstep on Halloween (when shes dressed as a harem girl as she's getting ready to go to a party) to make a big gesture and tell her he will move to be with her.
  • In the epilogue, you learn they spent a few years in NYC then moved back to their hometown together with a new appreciation for that life

Have you found this one?

Hi, so I was trying to find a book I remember it's a May-December book, where the h wants revenge on her cheating ex and decides to sleep with the father (H) and wants her ex to walk in on them for revenge. What I remember is that towards the end of the book the ex walks in on h and H having sex and that's all I remember.
I'm a blessing...I'm a curse...I'm an angel in disguise!!

Hi everyone,
Hope you all are doing great! I read book 2-3 years ago and it was basically based on the affair of h husband and H's wife. h finds about the affair and asks the H to help her in saving her marriage. H and h develops a friendship and later they fall in love with each other. h is pregnant when all these things are happening and later in the story she miscarries. h's husband is with his mistress when this happens and it works as the final nail in the coffin for whatever is left in h's married life. Meanwhile H's wife also gets pregnant. H is actually a restaurant owner and has a lot of debt which he owes to his father in law which his father in law uses to pressurise and interfere whenever he needs or wants to. In the end, if my memory serves me right then at last H leaves the restaurant which he was reluctant to do in the beginning due to his family history being linked to it and h convinces him to do that and also gives him money to start afresh and it is hea for them. And for the other couple not everything goes well. H's wife gives birth to om child and as there was no trust between them they were not able to continue their relationship. Would really appreciate all your help in finding this book.
Thank you guys, keep enjoying reading

I wonder if someone might know the title of this book that my hubby read some time ago and would like to read again. I am not sure where to post this either. It’s Science Fiction, war, military and here is a brief synopsis:-sentient Starship buried by an ancient race in the core of a planet. It is uncovered in a mining accident on an asteroid.

Thanks Menolly for the tip on where to ask

Hubby just happened to stumble upon it when her was looking for something else. He said the last book is very disappointing.

Thank you all for suggesting books.

Hello! I seriously need some help, I've been wracking my brain for the name of this book for almost a week now.

I read it back in the 2010s. 2011-2015, I think? I don't recall the publishing date, but the way the author wrote made me feel like it couldn't be older than 2010.

Okay, so, it's set in ancient China (can't recall if it was a historical dynasty or a fantasy one), and the main character is a young man who was raised as a woman by his mother because she feared his older half-brother would kill him if it was known he was male. The story opens with MC being married off by his half-brother to join the harem of a semi-retired general. When the general discovers him (and is ticked at being decieved), the MC begs the man for his life, claiming that he hadn't wanted to fool him, but that his half-brother found out about him and was using the marriage to kill to birds with one stone; if the general were to kill the MC, but not say why, it would be an excuse for the MC's brother to go to the emperor and make trouble for the general; if the general were to kill the MC and make it known the MC's a man, it would be a disgrace to the general for being fooled and he would lose credit in the eyes of the emperor. And so the only way to make sure everything is win-win for the protagonists is for the general to let the MC live and simply not make a fuss about him at all.

The general agrees with the MC's plan, and then they gradually develop a romantic relationship.

The MC deals with harem intrigue such as getting along with the main wife, getting friendly with other concubines, and conflicting with another concubine that's determined to make trouble with everyone. This leads into a ploy where the antagonist concubine tries to make the MC miscarry the baby she think he's pregnant with, and he turns it into his favor by getting a doctor to claim that such poison has made it so the MC can never bear a child ever again (to cover up why he'll never get pregnant despite how much the general "favors" him).

There's also another subplot where the general has to go take the army out to fight . . . the Huns? The Mongols? A different kingdom? And the MC gets taken along. Worried for the general (because his evil half-brother is playing traitor), the MC sneaks out in men's armor and pretends to be a soldier. His evil half-brother is killed by the MC eunuch servant/best friend (whom I just remembered existed); evil half-brother claims he can't be killed because a fortuneteller foretold that he would be killed by neither man nor woman, but the eunuch servant/friend reminds evil half-brother that since he caused the eunuch to be castrated, the eunuch was neither man no woman [according to that culture; obviously I don't equate gender with reproductive organs].

I know I got some of the plot points out of order, but I do know things did happen in the story like that  8)
"Whose job is it to answer the door?"

"Why, what questions has it been asking?"

I have another book I cant remember the name of. Its set in 1700 to 1800s. The hero has to marry by a certain date or be force to marry his grandmothers choice of bride or lose his inheritance. His house hold us very unconventional, none of them like the grandmother and one of his maids a one eyed maid has a sister in another household. She recommends the young lady of her susters household as a bride candidate.

The heros household also has a parrot who likes to say pervy things to the females. The hero has a special room filled with the ugliest and gaudyiest decorations, found by him and members of the household. He puts on a show of displaying his anger by s m ashing items in the room and the servants make bets on whats going to be smashed next.

The heroine is the head of the household of the one eyed maids sister. Thier parents died and and she is left caring for her siblings. Thier landlord is demanding back rent in the form of her sisterbecoming his mistress. Its almost christmas time and they are out of about all food. They are saving back a small portion of christmas pudding to share for christmas. As time to make the decision about thier landlord gets closer she makes a desperate decision. Her parents left behind a cursed statue called a sheela na gig that grants wishes with a twist. Its a cursed irish statue of a nude female, an example of the wishes guy asks for money and gets a mountain of coins dropped from the ceiling burying him and killing him. She makes a wish for help.

After the wish the maid from the heros home visits her sister and they make the offer of her marring the hero which would save her family from the landlord. After this a series of events unfolds with her thinking the curses twist is about to reveal itself.

I hope someone recognizes this story i really want to reread it.

After alot of searching and changing terms used. I found the book it is Forbidden Magic by Jo Beverley

I can see that it's been a while since someone posted, but I'm getting desperate.
This is a harlequin book, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the book
or the author.  I think the cover was yellow, but not positive.

The heroine is a model and she's on a boat to have pictures taken.  The photographer
has a lot of wires all over the deck. As they're working, people are moving around and
a light falls and either hits the model or comes close.  She ends up blinded and has to have
surgery and stays with a friend.  If I remember right, she's thinking of him being followed
by a shark.  The photographer goes to see her and she gets upset with him.
He sees her counting her steps as she's walking so she won't bump into furniture.

Time marches on and she has to have surgery again and gets she her sight back.

At some point there's a trial and she won't look at him when she testifies.  She ends up
winning her case and he has to sell some of his stuff in order to pay her.

After a while they get together at her friends house and meets a woman who had a
diamond ring.  Thinking the the woman and the photographer are engaged, she leaves.

For some reason the name of the author MAY be Edwards, but this is just a guess.
I really hope someone can help me.  We now live in senior housing and I got rid of
all my paperbacks, not thinking of checking if they were out in ebook form since there
is a problem with enough space.  I already have quite a few in ebook form.   Shame on me.

I've been thinking of this book off and on and it's really bugging me.
Thank you in advance for your help, and good luck.

Hello,

It´s been several years since I´ve read the book:
- heroine is a witch
- hero is a dragon/dragon shifter
- they have to get married
- and the heroine is drunk on her wedding day
- and the hero is kinda glad because since she is drunk he can trick her into marrying him without causing a scene

I think they were getting married under or close to a waterfall.

If it rings a bell let me know  :-*

Thank you!

Hi i’m looking for these stories:
The author was from new zealand. I think the name she posted under started with an s. Might have been sands or sande not 100% on that. I remember in her bio she was in law school.  Her stories were on the stars library & the writer’s coffee shop site. It is not fanfiction. All human.
The stories were taken down years before the site went down.
She Had 4 or 5 stories

One was called  “under the deep blue skies”(or something really close to that) -a maddening love story where the girl liked rough sex and the guy loved her but struggled to give her what she wanted and they kept coming back back-and-forth getting back together and then breaking up. There was a tree house that she went to even as an adult. The guy was very successful and sweet. She was strong but needed him badly. And another story which was the last posted was called “Trafalgar Square” - girl is a runner and a reporter she has blonde hair and the guy is a spy in London and they bump into each other while running. I think i remember he saves her from being hit by a car while tying her shoe.  He travels a lot. Neither of these stories were finished. There was a viking story that was completed. Thanks in advance to anyone who searches for these!

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to identify a Mills & Boon/Harlequin romance and would appreciate any help.

The plot involves a heroine who owes money to a property agency. To clear her debt, the agency offers her a deal: if she can seduce a wealthy island owner and convince him to sell his island, her debt will be forgiven.

She travels to the island with this hidden agenda and gradually succeeds in making the hero fall in love with her. However, the hero eventually discovers her deception. By that point, the heroine has genuinely fallen deeply in love with him.

As punishment, the hero keeps her on the island and makes her work for him, taking care of his house and performing household duties almost like a servant. There is also another woman on the island, and the hero pretends to be romantically involved with her, making the heroine jealous and miserable.

Eventually, the hero sends the heroine away. But after she leaves, he realizes he loves her and goes after her, catching up with her before she gets home and confessing his feelings.

Does anyone recognize this book or remember the title and author? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
