Favorite novel to movie/TV series adaptations
« on: May 31, 2012, 12:21 AM »
Hi guys!  :)
Since one of Hollywood's favorite things to do right now is to adapt popular novels into movies or TV series. I thought it would be good idea to ask what your favorite novel to movie/ TV series adaptations are. It can be Ya/ fiction/ fantasy / romance etc..
I'd also like to know what upcoming novel adaptation are you excited about.
Which novel/novel series you want to be made into a movie or TV series.
Which actor/actress you want to portray the characters.
Which is your least favorite novel adaptation.

You could have more than one favorite or least favorite.

If people say they just love the smell of books, I always want to pull them aside and ask, To be clear, do you know how reading works?

I'll start

My favorite novel adaptations are the Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings movies.
I'm excited about the upcoming Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie.
I wish they would make a movie of the Pendragon series by DJ Machale.
My least favorite novel adaptation is Eragon.
If people say they just love the smell of books, I always want to pull them aside and ask, To be clear, do you know how reading works?

The best adaptations are oldies: Gone with the wind and Solaris.
I loved the Lord of the rings movies! (Loved the books better, thou)
Also Harry Potter's films were nice.
Love the Game of thrones!
Also very good: Bicentennial Man and I, Robot.

I would love to see adapated for film or series these two: Carey's Kushiel series (both Phèdre's and Imriel's books - I don't care much for Naamah trilogy) and Feist-Wurts Empire Trilogy! I just loved these books! :D

Game of Thrones is my favorite!
Harry Potter, Lord of Rings are a very close second.
Old Movie, but I liked the orignal Jurassic Park back in the day in comparison to the book.

Most of the time I hate it when they take a book and turn it into a movie and they usually ruin it (Eragon could of been a really good movie series) But I have to say that I went and watched the movie Hunger Games and it was really good. I don't think I got really mad about anything.

I was disappointed with the first Percy Jackson movie. it wasn't anywhere close to the book. I'm hoping they get it right with the second one because it has the potential to be the next Harry Potter and the Percy Jackson book series is my favorite.

Me too! I also loved the movie and novel for A Walk to Remember. Also, Tomorrow, When the War began is a good one too.

Boy I need to get out to movies more.
OK I HATED the twilight movies but I enjoyed the books. Stupid Sparkly Vamp and all.
I can't bring myself to watch One for the Money (Stephanie Blum) Series. I liked the books I hate the actress and actors they picked for the characters.
I agree Eragon movie SUCKED book was good,
Lord of the Rings AWESOME BOOK and Movies
Can NOT wait for FIFTY SHADES!
I can't say what novels I would like made to movies cause pretty much any I really liked would go on the list.

my favorite novel to tv series adaptation is the sword of truth/legend of the seeker series

I was a little dissapointed when they didn't take this one with in sword of truth series  :(

(The hero deals with an eight-year-old child's fit of temper:) Princess Violet glared at him. "My mother says that Confessor Kahlan will come back and that we'll have a surprise for her the next time she comes here. I just want you to know because my mother said you'll be dead by then. My mother says I get to decide what to do to her. First, I'm going to cut off her hair." Her hands were in fists, her face red. "Then I'm going to let all the guards rape her, every one! Then I'm going to put her in the dungeon for a few years so they'll have someone to play with! Then when I get tired of hurting her, I'll have her head chopped off and put it on a pole where I can watch it rot!"
Richard actually felt sorry for the little Princess. The sadness for her came over him in a wave. At that feeling, he was surprised to feel the thing in him that had come awake rise up.
Princess Violet squeezed her eyes shut, stuck her tongue out far as she could.
It was like a red flag.
The strength of the awakened power exploded through him.
He could feel her jaw shatter like a crystal goblet on a stone floor when his boot came up under it. The impact of the blow lifted the Princess into the air. Her own teeth severed her tongue before they, too, shattered. She landed on her back, a good distance away, trying to scream through the gushing blood.
