NO BOOK POSTINGS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS SITE

Hello, all :)

I know there's already an 'Introduce Yourself' thread up on the main page but I thought I'd put one up  here in the Cafe as well (so it's just for us book readers). Please take a moment to drop in and say hi, maybe tell us a little bit about yourself....or just tell us what type of books you like to read.

!!

Warning ! Please do not post any personal information that may be used to identify your person outside of this site, such as your place of residence, age, or real name. This information may be used with harmful intent.

Note: Since our policy for uploading books has changed to not allowing books to be uploaded, the bar at the top was changed to reflect this to prevent confusion.    The policy is we do not allow copyrighted published books uploaded on this site.

Hello everyone!
I am aquarise. I have a strong addiction towards computer games and novels.

Despite my busy life, I am still able to grab a few precious moments to read some ebooks and visit PTS. It has been a wonderful experience so far and I hope that it never ends.

My preferred genre are thriller, crime, fiction(not too serious), romance (not erotic), YA but most of all, I prefer any book which has a good story.

I used to think my sister was crazy when she would lay around and read all the time and now I have become her!  I even keep a journal of EVERYTHING I have read!

The journal idea is brilliant! I've never really thought of doing that, but I think I'll have to start. Too many times have there been books that I've read and liked, and a few years later I'll want to re-read, yet I can't remember what they are. Plus I could put in mini-reviews to remind myself of what the book is like...Hmmmm...I'll have to get started on this soon. My husband will get to laugh at me, because I'll probably do it in .xls format with separate tabs organizing by date read, author, title and series...Look at what you've started!  ;]

And I have that in common with you and your sister. I generally read a book a day, and when I have several days off (+my husband is out of town) I go on a reading binge. Nothing quite like reading 2-6 books a day for several days straight! Hopefully you don't have the same problem as I do--I tend to get lost in the book I'm reading and forget to do certain little things..like feeding the dogs or doing dishes.  ;D

Welcome to STP!

Hi everyone,

I am 18, from Australia and have 2 weeks left at school. I basically have STP threads up 24-7 in class, refreshing a thread every few minutes waiting for a book to appear. I also have a pdf file up on my screen pretending to do work while i'm really reading.
I am in love with the idea of the virtual library, and people with the same passion for books being able to share and comment on similar interests.
My favourite genres are pretty much anything fantasy. I love YA and Paranormal.
My library does not contain one normal character in it! Someone in every book is always a vampire, werewolf, witch, fey, god or demi-god, necromancer, demon, angell, shape shifter and the list goes on.

Aaand thats about it!
Thanks  :D

Hi to everybody!
I'm Mei, I'm 48 and I'm writing from Italy!
I've olways loved reading - my mom got me addicted... now everybody is sorry about that... I'm always with a book in my hands (now my reader). Sometimes people just say to me: "For God's sake, STOP reading!!!" I read walking, cooking... It is really an addiction!  ;D

Kallisti, I started a journal b/c I was finding myself buying duplicates! Authors change covers or put the same story in several anthologies. Also, I have a HUGE print library and it takes time to go through to find the book I want, so I make a note of books I have in print. Stuff like that. Also, if I read something I really like or really dislike I can make myself a note. Mine is in an Old Fashioned notebook! Along with lots of scrap papers of books I want to read and Authors to  be on the look out for!

This journal is the MOST ORGANIZED thing I do.  I may not know where the matching socks are but I know where my book is!

Oh, and yes I get lost in books! Housework is always last on the list. If I could get away with not picking the kids up at school sometimes in exchange for time to finish the book I would probably try that!  SO FAR THAT HASN'T HAPPENED! LOL

Hi Lynn500 and welcome to the STP community!
I agree this is a great site! Our stories are very similar as are our ages lol. I thought when I first came here there would be early 20 somethings. I was wrong.  ;D Sounds like you've read the newbie stuff so I won't go there lol.
Service space is always an issue. Please use the search button before re-requesting or uploading. Some tricks for searching: Use either the book, series or author and change it to "entire forum". To bring up Advanced Search enter just 1 letter. Searching is tricky but do your best. Everyone here is very nice as I'm sure you'll find out, please use the thank you button.

Thanks for the welcome @drypen.  I must say that was a quick reply and I appreciate your hints!  I already have and use Calbre, so formatting is not a problem for me.  I'm still trying to get used to using the site, but I'm sure I'll be able to find my way around and learn the tricks.

Thanks again for the welcome and looking forward to a long association with all of the members and staff here!  :)
You're very welcome.

I read walking, cooking... It is really an addiction!  ;D

This may seem like an odd question, but do you read while driving? And I mean actively in the driver's seat, not as a passenger. I haven't found anyone else that reads and drives, so I'm just checking.
