I've been hearing about it for a couple of days, and it's quite intriguing. Could we take it? Would it go the way of the 90's sites that were filled with animated gifs?
You can read about it here, at the bottom of Konrath's blog section. You are not allowed to view links.
You can see his books Flee and Origin, in action. My computer can't handle the third book (the List) which means it must be packing some juice behind it. (Something else to think about perhaps...)
I think like a lot say, maybe the first few authors would benefit, but then wouldn't it be more fad? Would it be cool for an author site only (so you can see a small animation on the sidebar or something) or should retailers get into it? Could we take all that movement on a page?@.@
It sounds weird, but I've watch Konrath. He's not the most...agreeable author at times, but he has a real knack for predicting things. So what do you think? Are you prepared? Have you seen any animated covers yet? If so, please share. I'd love to see who else is working with this now.
Myself, I am only experimenting light color wise. I am trying to turn light into darkness slow enough that the change is barely detected.
