Series books that features one couple in multiple books
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:29 PM »
Hi guys, I would like some book recommendations. I'm looking for Romance series or trilogy books that features one couple at least more than one book, the more the merrier. I read & loved Guild Hunter series (Elena & Raphael), Dragon bound series (Drago & Pia), & In death series (Eve & Roarke). I would like book suggestion that features MC's & couples like the ones I just mentioned (their personality, their relationship dynamics etc.) & NOT solely based on the similar type stories or series. PN, historical, contemporary, chick-lit, mystery, sci-fi (NO Dystopia/Apocalyptic/Zombie), adult/YA/NA, Erotic (NO BDSM, m/m, f/f, m/f/m) any genre will do. I like Alpha-Dominant-Dangerous-Bad boy types Hero and emotionally strong heroines who can hold their ground (they can start as somewhat vulnerable but as story progresses they should come out as strong personality). Please no love triangles, no best friends falling in love, no H/h falling for friend's ex or brother's ex, & definitely no cheating stories. Stand alone suggestions will be welcome too.  :)

not sure on the author but the whiskey creek series. And the Jeanine Frost books with Cat and Bones.
Can I just win the lottery so that my only decision in my life will be which book to read today? Please?

Sometimes I press the thank you button, just because someone else chose to share here with us.

I would recommend "The Battlelord "Saga" by Linda Mooney (post-apocalypse rom) .... It is very good .... 7 books all featuring Yul and Atty, from how they met to life after marriage, pregnancy; and babies.

Linda Mooney also has other series that features the same couple. Another fav of mine is the "Heart Fast" series (3 books in sci-fi theme) and Aequana series (2books in fantasy/pnr theme).

Her other series that features the same couple in a series are: - Cut Glass: Jewels series and  Lord of Thunder series.
Claire:"Does it bother you that I'm not a virgin?"
Jamie:"Well, no, so long as it doesna bother you that I am. Reckon one of us should know what they're doing."    ―Outlander TV series

Thanks for your recommendations  :-* Battle Lord Saga Series sounds good from GR book summary & readers review so I would definitely try to read the series. You seem to like this author a lot as you read most of her series books  :) Who knows, if I like Battle Lord series maybe I would do the same  :D Thanks again!

Check out the New Species series by Laurann Dohner, it features different couples in each book but all the couples keep showing up through the books .. one big family. No cheating, PN. Similar in that way is Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley ( no PN), or The Protectors by Teresa Gabelman ( PN), Elven Chronicles by MA Abraham, Vampires in America by DB Reynolds, Dark Guardian by Rachel Hawthorne (YA)

You have on the list the Tairen Soul series, I would say it's perfect as what you are looking for, Chicagoland Vampires hmm well what would you call cheating. If she is interested in a guy and he is with another woman right in front of her, and trying to get her at the same time, and it takes # of books for them to get together, well there is your answer if it's right for you. Guardian witch by Ally Shields is same in that way to the Chicagoland Vampires.  Wouldn't recommend House of Night by PC Cast.

The Twenty-Sided Sorceress by Annie Bellet, PN, I think it would match your list.
Rylee Adamson series by Shannon Mayer
Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs,  set in the same world as the Mercy Thompson Series, but on a slightly earlier time.
Also check Innkeeper Chronicles and Hidden Legacy by  Ilona Andrews

Thanks for posting your list, I have to check it out :)

If you want a Contemporary Romance I would suggest the "Crossfire" series by Sylvia Day and the "Lucian & Lia " Series by Sydney Landon.

Hi Jaffa Cakes. Sorry for late reply... make it a very late reply  :P

Thanks for your recommendations... there are some really good series you mentioned... I can't wait to start reading them... Specially "Hidden Legacy", "Innkeeper Chronicles"  &  "The Twenty-Sided Sorceress" ....  I'm adding them to my above list...

I read 4/5 books from New species series... didn't continue because I felt the series was heavily focused on erotica than the plot.... I buddy read the 1st book from the Rock chick series .... me & my friend both hated it... don't get me wrong, we love Kristen Ashley... absolutely love her burg series, dream man series... like Colorado mountain & chaos series too... but rock chick was over melodramatic for us (specially the heroin)..

I also finished the 1st four book of the Tairen Soul series... you were right... it was the perfect match to my description because I absolutely loved this series... I couldn't finish the 5th book though.. it became too dark & intense for me... I was reading the series at one go... so I took a break... unfortunately couldn't make time to go back to that 5th book & finish it... but it's on the back of my mind & I'll definitely finish it by this year  :D

Ok definitely crossing out Chicagoland Vampires series... guardian witch is not in my TR list & it won't be anymore... House of Night is on my TR list & has got some good ratings on GR... would you give me some details about this series so I can understand why it wouldn't be a series for me to read?

Thanks again for taking your time to recommend me some good series....  :-*

Thanks bizzygirl... I heard crossfire is similar like fifty shades of grey? I liked the fifty shades series but too much similar type series can be boring some time... is Lucian & Lia series similar type too?

It looks like that my reply comes really late :)
House of Night series, lets just put it there that I'm not a teenager and that might be the reason why I felt about the series this way.

Honestly the first thing that comes to my mind is stupid. That is how I would describe it. Now if you didn't read the series and would like to don't read the rest because of the spoilers.

In my opinion it felt like it was written for 12 year olds, but the content is for more mature. Boyfriend number 1 (or it was number 2) is introduced in a way hmm better not say it here, it was in a sexual context where she saw him with another girl. So our main girl keeps going through the boyfriends, there is also cheating on her side, I think that she has 2-3 boyfriends at the same time, keeps hurting all of them, but all that is ok because she is on the good side. And her friends react to cheating ..."cool, he is so hot". Add to all that bad writing. I consider it one of the worst series I have ever read.

Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley, I have to say that is the only series I like by that author. Tried other books and realized that I can't stand anything else written by her  :)

Consider checking Dark world by Donna Grant - it's huge when it comes to the number of books, every book one couple, but it just keeps adding to one big family and everyone is involved so you have to read in order .. no cheating.
Diamond City Magic series by Diana Pharaoh Francis , one couple in 3 books so far.

Update:

I hadn't followed up my post for so long. Recently started reading from the list I made in the OP, so I thought I will share updates of my reading. Finished first 2 books of Hidden Legacy series. IMO, Rogan's character is a dilluted mixture of Raphael & Roarke. & the heroine Nevada is a strong kickass heroine. I liked them but they didn't exactly made my top all time favourite list for couples. I would rather recommend the series based on the amazing world building. If you love too read PN magical world, you should read this series.
