Have you read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews?  Kate is bad ass and carries a sword.  She's very sarcastic.  You gotta love her!  This is one of my favorite series!

How about Charley Davidson by Darynda Jones? Charley is really funny, and reminds me of Kate a little bit.

How about the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning?  Mac's search for the book in her sister's last voicemail leads her to the sexy man Jericho Barrons. (is he human, or something else?)  She then realizes that all is not what it seems in Dublin.

or how about The Hollows by Kim Harrison?  Rachel reminds me of Cassie from the Cassie Palmer series.  Everything goes wrong for her, and she has non stop drama throughout each book in the series.

The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris is a fave of mine as well.  Sookie always seems to have trouble at her door.

The Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost is about Cat, a half human, half vampire.  She's a bad ass girl too.

Chloe Neil had a series about Merit, who was just recently turned vampire.  She also uses a sword as well.
