What are your fave books in each genre? Werewolves/Vampires
« on: November 03, 2011, 05:29 PM »
I have seen several people asking for suggestions for books, so I thought maybe we could start a weekly thread where everyone can pop in and list their favorite book from a different genre every week.

This week's poll winner is:

Werewolves and Vampires

...they don't have to be strictly YA or Adult. Just list your favorites and maybe a reason why or a quick summary. (The books do not have to have both species, can be either or both)

*I am going to include a poll at the top so everyone can vote for which genre to feature next week. (I included an "other" option...please specify in a post which genre. Thanks)

 Enjoy!! :)

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
1. DIMITRI YOU LITTLE THING YOU.
2. Their vampires are way awesome.
3. DIMITRI YOU AMAZING PIECE OF FOREIGN LABOUR
4. Rose's snark and fighting skill
5. Dimitri!!!! *glomp*

House of Night by P.C and Kristen Cast
1.Though they are very draggy I still read them for, you know, strange unfathomable reasons. Maybe because I keep laughing at Zoe. And how she manages to fall into so much creative shit. You know, I'm starting to think this would be better as a tv series than a book series but digression! ahem.
2. APHRODITE no one seems to see the value she has- she's the only one who makes the most sense. She's the person they don't know they need! She is very caring (though she shows it in strange ways) and she's always there for the nerd herd.

Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong
The werewolves in this story out shine any other. I really like how their transformation isn't the poof!thing but rather an uncomfortable transmogrification into a different bone structure that keeps the story feeling realistic. I also LOVE the characters themselves, Elena, Jeremy, Clay their personalities are so varied and such delicious fun!

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
Jenna, our pink-loving short sidekick vampire. She and Sophie never fail to crack me up with their banter. And when she goes all vampire and snarly? Pretty awesome and scary loving.
Also, not to forget, Lord Byron  ;)

So many more but these are one of the few that methinks is worth the while.

I might sound crazy, but don't laugh.  ;D LOL (and yet I was the one whose laughing)  ::)

1. Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

Reason: This was the first series I've read. A recommendation from my cousin, honestly, I don't like reading. But when I started Twilight I couldn't put it down. That's when I started reading lots of books. And I fell in love with Edward Cullen from then on. Ha ha. A forbidden love that hurts too many people in their lives. Bella's clumsiness almost made me laugh in some parts of the story, is there really a person prone to accidents all the time??? Meyer's way of writing is really good, like how she described the meadow, the wedding and the birth of their child. I was hooked ever since I started reading the whole series.

2. Night World Series by L.J. Smith

Reason#1: This series made me think hard as to who were the four Wild Powers she was talking about.

Reason#2: The characters were amazing. Vampires, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Witches and Humans, all in one series.

Reason#3: The Soul mate Principle theory was incredible.  ;D Smith almost made me believe in that that might actually exist.

3. Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead

Reason#1: Rose Hathaway!  ;D

Reason#2: Dimitri Belikov and Adrian Ivashkov!  ;D

Reason#3: A well-written series by an amazing author. About Friendship, Love, Betrayal and Sacrifice. Who would you choose? Will you follow your heart?

4. House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Reason#1: I love the book covers, LOL. Seriously, that's the reason why I bought the books. And when I started reading them, I made the right decision to buy them. Though most of the time I hate Zoey, it's like she wanted all the guys, what a selfish woman. LMAO. But as the series continued, I like the way she stands up for her friends and to what she wanted.

Reason#2: I adore Heath Luck, he didn't give up on Zoey even if they're all different. He didn't care if Zoey's a vampyre, he will do anything to protect her. Because of his LOVE for Zoey, he SACRIFICED himself by losing his life. On the Otherworld, he gave up Zoey for her to be able to put the pieces of her soul back together and return to the real world. But that doesn't mean he don't love her anymore. He's the kind of guy I might spend the rest of my life with. LOL

Hmm, that's it.  ;D I'm not good in giving book reviews, and my English kinda s*ck.

There are some werewolves/vampire books whose cover was so hauntingly beautiful but when I read them, ugh, it made me want to throw the book away or tear them to pieces, but I spent my own money for it and that's what made me mad. Every single dime counts, and I spent most of it to books that weren't worth buying for. I'm ranting, I'll stop now.  :-X LOL

im sorry, do u have night world series ???....im dying to read that books....
