Harlequin books are pretty good for novels where the heroine goes overseas and finds love. I like the concept of these stories because the heroine is usually very intelligent and she usually helps people and is often paid highly for her expertise. Unfortunately, I can't think of any novels I read where the hero
wasn't mean or he didn't have a nasty attitude towards the heroine (at least in the beginning of the story - and often throughout most of the book. That kind of ruins the story for me. I like romance novels where the man is respectful, polite, and nice to the woman right from the beginning of the story, not just at the end.)
The best, not so famous book, I've read in a long time is a non-fiction title called: "Are Men the Weaker Sex?" by Josette Sona. It's from Smashwords so it's free and it's not very long (about 45 pages). It flows easily and besides being very informative and interesting, it explains why so many women have so many problems with so many guys. Funny in some parts and serious in others, I would highly recommend it.
Oh, oh...
I forgot. I tried to think of the story: Reunion by Lindsay McKenna (in the Warriors for the Light series) - one of my favorites because the hero isn't a jerk.
I don't think the heroine goes overseas but she does have special skills and meets her soulmate
(and there is an 'overseas' element to the story).
If you don't have it or can't find it, I can lend you my amazon copy. (We're allowed to do that even though it says, in the beginning of a lot of ebooks, that ebooks are non-transferrable.)
