What is the best not so famous book you have ever read?
Mine are:

1-  Sandra Carvalho "A Saga das Pedras Mágicas" (Something like "The Chronicles of the Magic Gems" that were never translated into English.)

2- Also Karina Halle "Experiment in Terror Series" that I've read some years ago and only now people are talking about here (in Brazil, where I live hehe)

3- Angel Fall by Susan Ee, but now it's becomeing very famous.

And yours, guys?

Love the topic. Hopefully I will find some good books to add to my ever-growing TR list.  :D

Before I found PTS & then GR I used to read novels that I found randomly on Internet. Didn't read any review, had no idea what the book was about, just found them & read them. So here's some books name from my earlier reading list... I won't say they are the best I have ever read but if we are talking about the non famous kind I would say they are pretty good read.

1. Dawn of Passion by Catherine Kay - Harlequin romance book. Published on 1982. I bought the hardcopy from a second hand book shop. The plot was based on Egypt. The main characters were archaeologists. The heroin was american & expert on ancient languages & had a great passion & love for Egypt so she came to Egypt to work with the hero who was Egyptian archaeologist & had some blue blood in his family bloodline. There were some drama, misunderstanding due to different background of the H & h... there was a little bit mystery in the plot too. It had the flavor of adventure as the heroine came to work in an archaeology site to discover a hidden ancient library.

2. Changes by Paige Vest - It's a feel good kind of romance story between a single mom of a teenage girl & a widowed cop. At first I thought it was a simple read, not heavy with drama... but it developed towards a light mystery crime theme & had some action after 2/3 part of the book... I mean the hero is a cop so there was bound to be some   ;)  The heroine & hero deals with some issues from their previous relationship but they resolved them pretty quickly & that's how I like them.

I tried to find some books like Dawn of Passion where heroine comes to a new country for adventure & found love... but haven't found any.

Harlequin books are pretty good for novels where the heroine goes overseas and finds love.  I like the concept of these stories because the heroine is usually very intelligent and she usually helps people and is often paid highly for her expertise. Unfortunately, I can't think of any novels I read where the hero wasn't mean or he didn't have a nasty attitude towards the heroine (at least in the beginning of the story - and often throughout most of the book.  That kind of ruins the story for me.  I like romance novels where the man is respectful, polite, and nice to the woman right from the beginning of the story, not just at the end.)

The best, not so famous book, I've read in a long time is a non-fiction title called: "Are Men the Weaker Sex?" by Josette Sona.  It's from Smashwords so it's free and it's not very long (about 45 pages).  It flows easily and besides being very informative and interesting, it explains why so many women have so many problems with so many guys.  Funny in some parts and serious in others, I would highly recommend it. ;D

Oh, oh... :D I forgot.  I tried to think of the story: Reunion by Lindsay McKenna (in the Warriors for the Light series) - one of my favorites because the hero isn't a jerk. I don't think the heroine goes overseas but she does have special skills and meets her soulmate  (and there is an 'overseas' element to the story).
If you don't have it or can't find it, I can lend you my amazon copy.  (We're allowed to do that even though it says, in the beginning of a lot of ebooks, that ebooks are non-transferrable.) ;)
