Help with inserting book covers for mobi on Kindle!
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:09 PM »
Hey guys, do any of you know how to insert book covers for mobi on Kindle? I've done all the book cover editing on calibre and they appear just fine in there, but the book covers still don't show up on my kindle paperwhite home page and it's driving me to a slow death  :'(

(oh, and the ebooks I'm talking about were first converted from epub to mobi but I'm not sure if that's got any effect)

After you download the book metadata and cover , you have to convert them again to your desired format so, the metadata and cover can aatch itself to the book. :)

Yeah, what ninjumper said is correct.  You have to go through with the conversion process otherwise the cover will not attach itself to the book and metadata tags won't be altered.

So I have some epub files, I open in Calibre, and if they already have a cover, I just convert to mobi without editing any metadata or covers.  Assuming they already had covers.

So given the advice above, even if the epub books showed a cover, I clicked to download metadata anyway, convert to mobi, and sure enough, the cover of the book show in both my Docs tab and on the Bookshelf front page. (What a PITA, having to do this for every epub file?)

However, a couple of books I tried, had the correct title and author in the fields, but when I clicked to download metadata, it said nothing could be found, try less specific details. So I tried with just the authors' name, and it still didn't find any info for the book.

Anyone else experience this kind of thing?

hmm try getting isbn number
use isbn extract plugin for calibre it helps.
also sometime you have to write the name of author and book title again as the sometimes they are accurate but you don't get result.
