Kindle App not working on Mac Yosemite (vers 10.10)

Hi guys! My Kindle Reader App has stopped working since I upgraded to Mac Yosemite. Amazon trouble shooting and customer service hasn't been able to help. And, I can't find the Kindle Reader App on ITunes/App Store. It's driving me crazy. When I download the App from a third party site (suggested by Amazon) the .dmg file mounts and installs the App but then it won't open. Any ideas?

Best Advice is wait for Amazon to release a App that works on your OS, because it is not your Fault their fault that they didn't released a compatible App or update it.

Thanks Nin! It's incredibly frustrating though. I keep thinking maybe I should revert to Mavericks and then re-install kindle. But then I like Yosemite as an OS. Ugh. So Annoying! Oh well, I shall, as you say, remain patient until they get themselves sorted.

You can try this, found it on Mobileread Forums
If you are unable to open the Kindle app after installing Yosemite or if you get an incompatible software message upon installing Yosemite, try this:

1. Find the Kindle app on your Mac and delete it and the supporting files. Mine was in an "incompatible software" directory. Easiest way is to use appcleaner or a similar app.
2. Reinstall from the Mac App store. It will be version 1.10.6 (40499) dated 10/17/14. Any version of 1.10.6 prior to 10/17/14 is probably not going to work.

You will have to re-register after you open the app.
