Sony PRST2 E-reader
« on: January 03, 2013, 01:45 AM »
Hi.
I'm thinking of buying the Sony PRST2 reader. I want to know if I can add books that I download from the web (eg. epubbud.com )and just plug the reader to the computer and add it  or do I have to buy the ebooks from stores?

Thank You :)

Yes, you can add books you've downloaded of the net onto your Sony PRS-T2 like a USB Flashdrive.  Provide that all the books you intend to put on it are in epub format, otherwise you will have to convert them into epub.

That's great! Thank you! Are you using this reader? Are there any negative sides of this product I should be aware of?

I'm actually using the much older Sony PRS-350 Pocket Edition eReader, which is quite similar to the PRS-T2 with only a few minor differences.  The PRS-T2 has a 6 inch eInk screen, Wi-Fi Net support, and a microSD Card slot.  The only negative about the Sony PRS-T2 is that it doesn't come with an micro-USB mains charger, but you could easily get one pretty cheaply at your local high street electronics retailer.

I'm using a Sony T1 which is nearly identical to the T2. You can add any DRM free epub to your reader very easily over USB. I like to use Calibre to send to the T1. It is very useful in showing series information.
