I still use my Kobo eReader.... I had never had an eReader before and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I knew so little about so I bought a Kobo because it was super cheap (about $80) from Borders. I have been using it ever since and while I plan on buying a newer touch/color eReader I have never had a problem with the Kobo. It allows you to use SD cards where you can add books onto the SD card from your computer and insert into the eReader, it has wifi and you can direct download from the Kobo site. While it's not the prettiest or fanciest thing in the world, it's cheap, easy to use and I've never had a problem with it. I also have an ipod touch that I use for my ebooks which allows me to connect to my computer via wifi and download books through Stanza or you can download apps (such as ibooks, Kobo, etc) add purchase books that way. I've never used a kindle, nook or sony ereader so i don't know how they compare.
I think the Sony Reader™ Wi-Fi® (PRS-T1) is the best I've got the white and the red one. With cover it's so awesome
I just received a Kobo touch last night as a belated birthday present and so I am pretty excited to see what its like. i just need some direction with regards to the initial set up as I dont have the internet at home so will have to go the net cafe and download the kobo desktop app and then upload it onto my laptop at home and then try see if i can get it set up offline. do you know if i will be able to?
