I was using the ffdl plug-in for calibre and did not have any problem downloading the story.

Well i follow your suggestion of looking into this topic and the FicSave worked!! Thanks  :-*

Is there any latest update available on Flagfic site? Any clue...? Twitter link hasn't been uploaded for ages. :(

I found it the quickest site to download works besides hassle free. Though Fanfic downloader is doing the job but Flagfic was my first preference. So, if anyone can provide info. in this regard I'll be really thankful.  Thanks.

No update that I know of.  Many of us use either Calibre, FF Downloader (for desktop) Storymaster or Ficsave.  :-*

Also, if you look at the Miscellaneous post on the Index (link in my signature line), you'll find near the end of the list some programs to help you copy and paste from ffn if you so desire.

Hi! You said you cant copy - paste the stories in fanfiction.net but i think you can you just have to select all, copy and then paste, granted that you copy the whole page, i've done that when my downloader started malfunctioning, I succeeded but i lost my patience eventually. Anyway, you can use fanfictiondownloader. It can still download stories from fanfiction.net, I dont understand why you can't. I've been using it for a long time now actually.

Actually there is an extension now on google just for that purpose for copying and pasting in fanfiction but with Storymaster, ficsave, fictiondownloader which also has a webverison and calibre.

But I get what your saying here it is

I need help!   :sign0085:

How to edit that calibre/fanfiction downloader combination, how that downloader give a name
downloaded story??  :-[

Now I have only this way:
story name – author  :17:

I like to have this way:    :pulling
author - story name – chapters – story progress ( in progress / complete )

Will be too tough a work   :omg: to edit of those the story names one by one, when I start to
download those FictionPad Twilight stories ( LOL almost all of them )
Not a single to testosterone full, the wolf pack story!!!  :D :D

Please!!!   :o Add pictures your quide to understand better! How to configuration that
downloader???  ^-^

:)

Not sure if you've found the answer to your question yet so just in case anyone else is interested...

I also want the downloaded story to look a certain way.  In my case I want it to be like this:

i.e:  rainingaces - Keeping the Balance (In-Progress) (12 ch) (Feb 08, 2015)

Steps:

Calibre menu bar:

Preferences --> Change calibre behavior

Under Import/Export selection, select Saving books to disk

Next screen, in Saving Template field, enter the template as follows:

      {authors} - {title} ({#status}) ({#chapters} ch) ({#updated})

You can also change the way the date is displayed (in the same screen selection).

You can use all the various metadata fields available in calibre in a template, including any custom columns you have created yourself. To find out the template name for a column simply hover your mouse over the column header. Names for custom fields (columns you have created yourself) always have a # as the first character.

Hope that helps.  I can attach a document with pictures if it's still not clear.

Hey,

So I am updating my calibre library and I have downloaded the set-up from Ellachanted on part five, just wondering if someone can give me clarifications on these columns.
Flounced? Don't know what this means, when relating to fanfiction. Haha
Relationships? Originally I thought this was for the character pairings but their is another column for that.
FFN? Yeah, this one I haven't got the foggiest. I thought this was something to with fanfiction.net, but not to sure.

Anyone who could help ill be grateful.

 :-* :-*

Got clarification.

Ficsave is down!  *general panicking noises*
Now that my freakout is out of the way, any Ffnet friendly in browser download options?
Ficsave was my favorite, and I download fics right to my tablet because I currently do not have a desktop or laptop computer.
I usually send them to my kindle account, but it does this weird thing with fonts where suddenly parts of the text would be huge.  I fixed this by downloading it in text format.
I also have an epub reader so I can use that format.  Due to limited space on my tablet, calibre isn't a good option.
Any suggestions?

There's storymaster and a free standing ff downloader.  Links near the bottom of the miscellenous list on the Index.  I haven't used either so I can't tell you anything about them, but others here have used them.

You can use Calibre to download from fictionpad.  Although I haven't tried it, I also assume you can use the freestanding ffdownloader, as well.

I have the freestanding ffdownloader but it can't download from fictionpad.  Also tried Ficsave and Storymaster, but no joy.  Tried your suggestion, the downloader in Calibre, which was successful.  Thank you.

So I just downloaded a bunch of stories onto my kindle fire and when I go to read them from the download tab I can't read the stories that I just downloaded.  Can anyone help me?  I am going to be away from my PC for the day and wanted to be able to read some good fanfics today.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried any of the programs?  I haven't tried to download anything from ADF since Flag went down and I switched to calibre.
