If the file isn't being named properly, this means there is something else on your system which is interfering with it and stripping off the filename that FicLab has provided. Some antivirus plugins are known to do this (Avast, for example).

I will have a look at my Norton.  I don't know what triggered this as it was fine until about a week ago.

You can get the previous version from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login    Personally I will wait until the new release.  I understand that the reason for the disable was because it was messing with existing downloads.  They are testing the new version so it won't be long now.

I was using the newest version of fff, but saw reports that the previous version was working with ff.net so I went back to 3.27.4, since I had it saved, and it works with ff.net.

I haven't had any problems, other than I think it's a little slower, but I think they did that on purpose so ffn wouldn't get uppity.

Then it's a good program to use.

Whichever one you like best.  Epub takes up the least amount of storage space.

I also have to change my post about the latest calibre fanficfare update.  I did run into problems, so have uninstalled and gone back to 3.27.

Now what I'm hearing is that ffn is still moving its server, so there may be sporadic problems with calibre.  So if it's not working for you now, try again in a day or two.

So everyone should wait untill the developers have resolved the issue? When the issue is resolved someone tell how it works out with ePub. If it downloads 100% no issues. Do the format ePub keep the front images in the beginning of the stories?

Mobi if you have a Kindle, ePub for everything else. If you have an unusual use-case where a different format is more appropriate, you'll already know that.

Avoid PDF like the plague. It's not a reflowable format, so it can't adjust to different screen sizes, and the results when converting it to other formats generally aren't particularly good. If you must download PDF for some reason, download the ePub as well. That way, even if the story is pulled at some later date, you'll still have a decent source file that can be easily converted into whatever you happen to need at the time.

Thanks, also wondering with regards to the cover image for stories do they show up in ePub when using fafiction downloade? If downloading ePub to a computer can you read it on a computer?

. I don't know sorry - I don't use that app. They certainly do with FicLab.

Yes, provided you have a reader app installed. There are many. Calibre has a bundled reader, if you're already using that. Adobe Digital Editions works well enough too, and you may already have that installed. There are a number of others you can use too.

So with ficlab it takes the cover image on fanfiction and adds it on the cover of the downloaded story?
