Merry Christmas everybody!  My gift to you is a book recommendation.   Go read "The Man I Love" by Suann Laqueur.  Demaris recommended it to me and it's amazing.  Every bit as good as Colleen Hoover's writing!

Today I realised I chose well with the hubby (or I've trained him really well  :P) as he gave me some really great gifts.

Hope everyone else had a great day and enjoyed themselves.  :-*

Just in case anyone is interested, Coz is publishing CHY.
I know this fic isn't for everyone considering it involves incest, but the woman sure knows how to write angst.  :P
Her publishing this makes me all kinds of happy, but making it into a four books series isn't necessary in my opinion.  :o

Vampire stories with human drama
« Reply #4605 on: December 25, 2015, 02:42 PM »
I'm looking for stories that match the following:

Bella has already finished High School and is either in College or has a career.
She's not married, nor has she ever been, and she's not in a relationship at the time of meeting Edward.
Bella and Edward's roles can be flipped, as in Edward can be the human and Bella the vampire.

I'm just looking for a little bit more of what most All-Human stories have, but with vampires. Most vampire stories only deal with the supernatural drama, and the Cullens facing down a newborn army or the Vulturi is a theme that is used way too often.

I'd also accept New Moon AU reccomendations. I've read plenty that happen 5 or 10 years later, where Bella has made a career for herself.

The only one I can think of right now is Sacrafices by Enthralled. Edward left Bella in NM and didn't come back. Bella married Jake but then he met his imprint. Then Victoria changes Bella and Bella becomes a college professor. You can guess what happens next. Good story. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Sorry, i haven't read her works. I know she is angsty.  :-\

She collabed with Colleen Hoover for Never Never and i am waiting for book 3 before i start.

Am reading For You, the first of Kristen Ashley's The Burg series. My kind of story, really love her writing.

Hey, all, hope everyone had happy holidays!

I know there are lots of Colleen Hoover fans here. I've only read the Slam series(isn't that what it's called? with the guy who does the poetry slams?), and have no idea which of her series/books to read next. I like a good romance, one that really hits me in the feels, anyone got any recs for me?

No angst yet... Just depressing.. I've shelved it until after my Christmas spirit has died down. It was cramping my holiday perkiness!

They're all good!  :)

Well, after Slammed series, i would go for Maybe, Someday as the not so heavy but romantic one.
Losing Hope and November 9 have more drama. They all hit you in the feels. But since November 9 was the latest one I read, and it's a solo book, you might want to go for this one.  :)

Bought this ages ago, but I've not got around to reading it yet if it's anything like her other books it'll drive you nuts before the end but by then you'll be totally in love with it.  :P

I would rec any book by CoHo but Hopeless is another great series she did and it's only 3 books (2 full length and a novella), I love Holder so much in them and the "first kiss" is hot but in a YA type of way. You'll know what I mean when you read it.  ;)

Probably a good idea hun, don't wanna kill your holiday buzz.  ;D

I was gonna read Lawless by T.M. Frazier as I've just finished King and Tyrant but A Very Naughty Christmas by Sabrina Paige was released today and it has a sequel to Prick included.  :cheer:

Thanks to you both, sounds like I just can't go wrong. I'll look for either stand alones or finished series, as I'm not in the mood to wait.

It's called A Very Dirty Christmas not A Very Naughty Christmas.  ^-^ :-[

In this new books it includes Prick, A Very Dirty Christmas (the sequel), Tool and Cannon.

I'm not really intrested in re-reading Tool and Cannon though I liked them, but I'm re-reading Prick (which I've nearly finished in one sitting) just to refresh myself on what happened before the sequel, that I love Caulter  ;) and I think I like it more this time round than I did the first time I read it even though it's not a masterpiece or anything.  :P

Check out The Man I Love by Suann Laqueur if you want major feels!  It knocked my socks off!  (Don't read the summary as it gives a big part of the plot away)  Another option  is Making Faces or The Law of Moses by Amy Harmon.   Those are both incredible. The Sweet Gum Tree was also good.  Different author.

As for Colleen Hoover.  I think the Hopeless series is her next best.   I did like Confess too.

Demaris always recommends this one but I can't bring myself to read it.   Just sounds so dark.   Have you read her other series called love Me With Lies? Wow that one was great.   I think it was better for me though because I had to wait what felt like years between each book and that really drug out the angst.
