Do I remember you guys saying that flagfic was working again?  I really like the way flagfic works because it makes it so my kindle can tell how long each chapter is.   Makes it a lot easier to read such a long fic!    I've noticed if I convert a pdf my kindle just thinks its one long chapter and won't tell me how many minutes left til the end of the chapter I'm reading.

Also, didn't they write an epilogue for Dusty recently?

There are, I think, two 'outtakes' on FFN and TB wrote a 'futuretake' for a charity compilation. If you want my honest opinion, don't read that...I know I wish I hadn't...Dusty ends where it should end, and it's perfect, anything else is ego and pandering.

So, speaking of reading lemons, I've been trying to read LolaShoes Let Your Light Shine.  I have it converted on my Kindle, except every so often (like every other page) has the title/author/date/time/page number that was probably at the bottom of each PDF page.  So annoying as it will come in the middle of a sentence.  But I think she pulled it before there were such things as downloaders to make epub or mobi versions.

So do they every do anything other than have sex?  Because 6 chapters in? I'm getting bored.  Not quite sure how Bella is doing it - that much must get painful after a while.  though I guess it's like putting ice on it  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Now I remember why I read a lot of mysteries and YA fics between the romance stories.   :P :-\ ;D

Sex is rather silly and awkward.  I've always wondered why men like to watch pron.  Reading pron is totally different since you can visualize anything you want in your head.

Post-coital cuddling used to be my favorite part of sex.  Now I can't stay awake long enough to enjoy it.  Hmm...wonder what my favorite part is now?
I always figured people watch pron because there is no way most normal people can get in those positions and actually enjoy sex. LOL!!!!

I know when my husband tries some of them, I'm like "okay, can't breathe" "leg cramp" "yeah, no, this isn't working for me" though I do appreciate the inventiveness at times.... ;D

Hi all! New thread? Wow!  :-*

So I was just reading a fanfic (and already forgotten title etc...  :o )

Anyway, E/B had a daughter and it was her birthday but they didn't throw a party, because her school had the rule that you had to invite your whole class to a birthday party so no kid feels left out...  :-[ :-[ :-[ ::)

Is this for real? Have you ever heard of something like that?

As for the spelling issue, when I was helping my youngest getting dressed this morning, I thought the print on his undershirt was weird...

There was a number and underneath the number written in full... or it should have...:

The party invite rule is true at my kids' schools (both public and private).  But only if you want to deliver the invites to the kids at school.  If you mail or e-mail them so it's not via school backpack method, then you don't have to invite everyone in the class.

Subliminal message in kids' clothing?

I still think that rule is silly and I definitely would try to get around this. I have no email or phone list for my daughter's kindergarten group, so I have to give the invites to kindergarten with her...

Don't forget the word 'in'!
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of outtakes in general, not 100% sure why, but I think it might be because by the time I 'finish' a story I want it to stay finished. Sequels are one thing but little amuse-bouche that you have to insert into the story yourself, that gives another viewpoint or alternative endings just piss me off, a different view point or ending could, technically, mean a different story.....if you know what I mean. In terms of the futuretake, it was written at a time when YG and TB were  in a very public, pretty nasty, fight, not sure anything good could be created out of such an environment; and it wasn't.

Another vote for Transendence...   I'm still just amazed that this was a good story! I mean, how in the world did she write a story about a caveman that can't speak and make it as awesome as it was?  I really enjoyed it, but going into the story I didn't think there was anyway that I would.  Oh and that ending...   it's one I'll always remember because it was unique and unexpected.

All good points! I sometimes read outtakes, but only if it was a really good chapter and I want to get the other persons POV...  but like you said, sometimes they can change the feeling of the story and if it's already a great story, why mess with it?   I was avoiding all things Dusty back when they wrote that futuretake...  was trying not to get sucked in to reading it to see what all the hype was about.  I just remember a lot of drama taking place.   :(   Oh and turns out my avoiding Dusty didn't work...  I'm on chapter 3 and I'm already getting nervous over the way his life is heading (since I know part of where he ends up based on the prologue).    :o

They do that around here too...   It's the school doing there best to prevent hurt feelings and cliques etc.   No matter though, kids still know if they've been left out of a party even if the invitations were given out a different way.   It stinks to be the kid that is left out, but at the same time, the birthday kid shouldn't have to invite every single person.   Who knew kid birthday parties could be so socially complicated? LOL

Thank you for the mention of FFDL!  I ended up getting Dusty via epub from your drive and converted it with Calibre and it worked beautifully...   my kindle knows the chapters which makes me a very happy girl!   These chapters are long...  like 1 Dusty chapter = 4 chapters of the books I've been reading previously.

I read Let Your Light Shine..  Is that the first one in that series?  It was one of the first fics I read and I was just blown away that somebody wrote adult romance twifics! LOL I was hooked.    I think there was some other stuff, but it was definitely very heavy on the lemons!

Edward in The Debt was kinda hot, I must admit. and I like the way the story opened...and it was very....'cinematic', in the way it unfolded. It was good but....I just wasn't crazy about it; could it be she was trying to be too clever? Maybe? At times? *shrug* If she does publish she won't be the worst author ever to have gone down that route...I wish her all the luck.

Lol, I've only ever gone to Helga once and ending up with a bruise on my vah-jay-jay was not what I asked for, so I've stuck to shaving since.  :D

I think at times she was probably a little too clever but I've found that with most of her fics but she does have a way of drawing you in so you kinda gotta read it.
And like you said she certainly ain't the worst writer out there. I forgot to mention the cherry on top of The debt was all the music mentioned in it, I was in my own little slice of heaven.  :)

You're no fun - we want pics, I would definitely share some of the hubby but I know that would end in divorce and I know I ain't going to do any better than him, so I'm/we're living vicariously through you.:(  :P :P :D :D
