We do have a new, rather interesting game that the Year 2 (6/7 yo) boys are playing - "Hump Everything That Doesn't Run Away".  (My name - not their's!)

Now, I'm sure we all have days when this sounds appealing (oh dear, is that just me again?), but it's not really a good sight to see a pack of little boys going at it like jack rabbits! For some reason, they have decided to pounce on trees, the ground, each other and just hump the bejeesus out of it!

I instructed my teachers to talk to all of the students about appropriate and inappropriate behaviours for school. I don't think I would have been able to keep a straight face during that talk!

I don't know what's in the water at school, but this year the children are carrying on like a bunch of deviants! Cute deviants, very strange deviants, funny deviants, but deviants none the less.

I stand by my dictum that if the principal isn't getting any action, no one can!!!

HUMP EVERYTHING THAT DOESN'T RUN AWAY?! seriously??? In what country is humping not ever associated with s e x ??? oh, right, Australia!!!   :D :D :D

Just curious, when did this game start and for how long will it run? am surprised none of the dirty minded parents haven't complained yet  ;D

Can someone just give me the gist of And With Thee Fade Away by Derdriu oFaolain?

Is it worth reading? Angsty? Trigger warnings? HEA? Terribly non-canon? Oh, and do we get any of Edward's POV?

I read it in December last year, based on Demaris' recommendation: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It is really good, but you do have to be in the mood to read in order to read it, if you know what I mean? It's very well crafted but it's not easy, there's a fair amount of stylistic writing going on in this little ol fic   This is no immature, 15 year old grammatical nightmare, garbage; nope, this scribe can write!

I don't actually remember much about it, but I do know that I saved it in my Faves - Edward was very sarcastic and out of character, but he had redeeming qualities and was quite funny. The epi left me a little cold - it was a very cutesy finish, but it did wrap up nicely. Yes - HEA.

I also don't recall any triggers - but I don't really have too many triggers either.

It is well written and different to any twific that I had read before - non-cannon but familiar, if that makes any sense. Definitely worth the read!

I hope your exam went well. What are you studying?

My day was much quieter today - no brawls at the front gate today. Thank you all for all the positive vibes!

Blue Lagoon definitely isn't one of her best fics - I actually flounced that one.

I haven't read the fic, but I watched You are not allowed to view links. Register or Loginthis earlier in the year - when the flood hit, I had no internet, no phone but pay tv and this was the only thing on that I hadn't seen - and it was atrocious! Christopher Atkins (from the original Blue Lagoon movie) had a role - sad to see how low one can fall in Hollywood! Even sadder that this was "big break" for the young Aussie who had the male lead!

85 minutes of my life I'll never get back!

The game started late last week. We thought it might die out over the weekend, but they recruited a few more "players".

I fear the children might have learnt this game from their parents - I certainly didn't teach them! There has been NO humping for me!!!

Yep - I'll turn the hose on them if they play it again!

Last year, the little kids were playing "puppies" and "kittens" and "horses". It lasted for weeks - the little kids all crawling around the school, meowing and purring, or running and jumping and barking, or trotting and neighing.

After a few days of the Humping Game, I miss the puppies! Even when they all barked and howled outside my office window!

Haha! When I was in Primary school we played those games. In year 2 or 3 I think we all (my whole class) played 'Lion King' for a couple of weeks on the oval, and pretty much for years a whole group of us played horses. It was at it's hight in year 3 though, I even got 'bucked' in the face once and had the most amazing blood nose and split lip, the little bit that connects your upper lip to your jaw was ripped. It hurt for a bit but I remember thinking the blood was cool and I got to sit in the staff room at eat icy poles until mum came and picked me up. Pity it happened at After School Care and not at morning tea or lunch time!

After that we moved on from being the horses to playing 'Saddle Club' where we pretty much just re-enacted the episodes from TV during lunch. I remember it being so much fun! Haha. Oh the joys of invisible horses...

It's a really good fic, it took me so long to read it, but I never regretted it especially now that the author took it down. It does have some thing that make you think WTF just happened but its all good; And not everybody ends up with a HEA, but Edward and Bella do, which I think everybody here cares about that, no?

Overall It so good, and a teenager definitely did not write this.   ;D

Rob Down Under update:

Rob and Guy and Aussie actor Sam Johnson, who is attempting to raise $1 million and break the world record for the most distance travelled on a unicycle, all for his sister. This is a beautiful, albeit sad story: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It's not Rob, but he's in the background somewhere - this is the landscape around where The Rover is filming.

Someone on the Love Your Sister FB asked who the other 2 guys are, and someone else responded - seriously - "Edward Pattinson".

:D :D :D That could be why Rob is loving Oz - there are still some people here who have no clue who he is. Poor souls!

I don't remember seeing Emmett like this in any of the Twilight movies!

It would have made his scenes far more watchable!

When I was at primary school, I was either playing family with my sisters and a couple of friends or football (soccer) with the boys because most of the girls were too boring. I once played with them - they were playing horses that month. The girl I hated the most because of her arrogant attitude (she was an only child) was of course the leader of that game. "I'm a pretty pink pony and flying on a pink fluffy cloud over a rainbow!" It was so ridiculous. The next time, I played with the boys again... it was much more fun.

Thank you! I did go ahead and start it, and I'm quite enjoying it so far! You're right, no kid wrote this. I'm at where it's just now switching to Edward's viewpoint, and his utter perplexion at his fascination with Bella.

They did NOT play up this guy's hotness nearly enough in the movies! What's the point of casting someone who looked like him, and then leaving him fully clothed the whole time?
