So, Bella is coming out of a badly ended relationship. She is a former child actress/singer who does more singing than acting. Edward has had a crush on her since he was 14 (they are about the same age)  They meet and become friends.  It is not insta-love for Bella. Well, really it is not insta-love for Edward either, he has just been crushing longer.

So, my problem?  Written by a writer from Britain who can't quite remember her geography.  Bella is in LA.  Edward is shooting a movie in Vancouver.  They decide to meet up halfway between in New York City for lunch when they both have a day off. Because NYC is halfway between LA and British Columbia. Everyone knows this, right?   

Oh, well.  I really shouldn't complain.  It's free.  And complete.  And Edward is sweet.

So, I get to go to Vegas by myself tonight for a one day training class tomorrow.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get in at the hotel they are having the training at, so  I will have to limit my low cost drinks.    And I won't be that close to the strip either.  It kind of takes some of the fun away.  Especially since I will be on my own.  I wonder if they still have penny slots anywhere?   

Oh man, am conflicted. I just finished reading Shey Stahl's Bad Husband and i really enjoyed it.
I chose to read it bec i thought she was fanfic author savage7289.  Anyway, since i enjoyed it, i was looking at goodreads to see her other works. Happy Hour had high ratings and synopsis seemed interesting. Then i read the reviews. She apparently plagiarizes from fanfic authors. WTF?  Spanglemaker9 claimed in 2014 this story was hers.  Though I haven't read Mary Elizabeth (don't kill me!) i knew who she is and she pretty much calls Stahl a thief.

I so wanted to read her other works but after reading about the plagiarism comments...i most likely will not read her works anymore.  such a shame.

I think some of her early works are actually hers.  Is this the author who wrote a race car driver series?

Well, I wish I had a little more notice.  Then I could have joined you.  I've never been to Vegas.

The first few times it was fun.  And it is more fun with someone else.  But if you don't drink much and don't gamble much, it gets boring.  And there is a lot of walking.  It feels like a mile from the front of the casino/hotel to the back.  They don't let you walk straight through.  It gets pretty noisy.  It is also cold and windy at this time of year. 

But the food can be great.  And there are so many great buffets.  And there is a lot of shopping.  Mostly window for me.  There are a couple of nice outlet malls.

You should really go sometime.  It is cheaper during the week and the spring and fall are usually the best times to go. If you stay on the strip, you don't really need a car.  I'm going for work and they tend to frown at staying at a casino - even if it is a hotel.  So I am at a hotel that isn't a casino.  Though really? There are slot machines everywhere.  Even in the gas stations. It is crazy.

Yes, it says Happy Hour is the first of her Racing On The Edge series.
That book was actually pulled from Amazon due to the plagiarism issues (as one reviewer said).

She was not Savage7289, I think she was javamama or something like that.  Yes, she wrote the race car ones that became her first published fics.  Then I think her next couple stories were okay.  Then she started stealing from other fanfic writers.  It was a big thing and caused Dusty to be published.

Savage7289 is Shay Savage and she has a number of books now that built on the Saving Bella fic and Caged.  New characters.  I hear they are good.   I think I bought a couple but haven't read them yet.

Yup, I knew that Shay Savage was savage7289. But for some reason, when i read "Shey Stahl" my brain told me that was savage the fanfic writer.  I also have her pubd books in my library but haven't gotten to read them yet. Offside is in my top 10 fave twific. Hmmm, think i should finally read her Surviving Raine then

You know,  I don't think we thank you enough for all your work keeping the index up to date. You are amazing! 

There are days when it makes me want to pull my hair out.  This last time, my spread sheet got goobered up and I had to  move my old info over to a new spreadsheet, carefully leaving behind whatever caused it to mess up.     Thank heaven for cut and paste.

I just finished reading this and I'm a bit mad that I wasted my free morning reading a non HEA fic, and god that ending. I don't know why I did not see it comming, i sometimes read the last bit of the last chapter just to make sure its a HEA, but for some reason I didn't for this one.

That is annoying.  I will have to mark it in my Calibre collection as a non-HEA so I don't accidentally read it.

thanks for the heads up. I have removed this one from my TBR library. I only read stories with an HEA for E&B.

High Anxiety is a Non-HEA? I remember reading as a WIP but don't remember it not being HEA.
