I started reading A Discovery of Witches this summer.  I've read the first two books and am about 1/3 of the way through the last book of the trilogy.  I've enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing a televised version.

I read the entire book series a little over a week.  :)
After the first episode I thought that the this book series is necessity to be read.
I could not lay the tablet out of my hand, I was completely become absorbed in by the story.  :o

I think the series is really a successful choices actor's to play roles, and I could no longer think of other Actors to play them. Teresa Palmer is Diana Bishop and Matthew Goode is Matthew Clairmont.  :13:

Yes, pretty much every time I post I get a gateway error.  Usually takes about 3 tries to get through.   :-\

I think I tried this.  My biggest problem with PDF files is the hard paragraph/return on each line.  Is there an easy way to highlight the whole thing and remove them all?  Otherwise it is just a mess if the story is long.  You have to go through every line and fix it.

Yes. You are finding & replacing non-printing characters, which are usually under some kind of more button and you enter the character code. When you dump the text in your word program, you need to show the invisible characters so you know what you actually want to replace. If you're super lucky, there are line breaks rather than paragraph marks, which is easy because you can replace all with nothing or a space. Probably not though. I used to Find the breaks I wanted to keep e.g. double or tripple paragraph marks ^p^p and replace them with a symbol of some kind that wouldn't be anywhere else: @ or ■ for example. Then I would replace all the remaining  ^p with nothing, which removed all the false breaks. Then I would go back and replace all the symbols with a single  ^p again. Sounds complicated, but it's really easy once you get the hang of it.

Right now I'm reading a book where it may be realistic vampire, if vampires exist.
Maybe we have romanized what kind of vampire would it be?   :o :D
Which would then be in reality so far away from the truth as could be.  ^-^

Here would be a funny quote from book where the main vampire character to explain what kind vampire really is?   :D

 :D :D

 :D :D

:)

Love this trilogy. I liked the new novel too, but it felt a bit like she was combining a spin-off novella and an extended epilogue. I'd have been very happy with it as a spinoff that went into his son's back story, but when she extended the story and included D&M, Harkness didn't really go into the questions remaining after the trilogy ended. I had been fine with the ending of the trilogy, but now I was hoping for answers. I'm probably picky though. I can't wait until the TV show airs in the States.

I just finished cupcakeriot's Supernormal. I really liked it. I had that welcomed feeling of desolation when it was over. It's lengthy, and I had been with the characters for so long...and then it was done. Ugh, but in a good way. I wish I had read it as a WIP rather than straight through since it makes the writing errors more apparent - not SPAGs - like she started it as a drabble, but it quickly became a regular story with lengthy chapters. She's also quite honest about her writing style flaws in the end notes, which isn't always a great thing.  But the story is very original and OOC in almost every way. If you're looking for  a true Twific, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a magical Ella and a werewolf Anthony, this is the fic to try.

supernormal by cupcakeriot
She is different. She is magic. And her life is unbelievably beyond normal - it's supernormal. Featuring: M-rating for language and violence, magic rituals, strange creatures, stranger deaths, some citrus, realistic character development, and a super slow burn.

So, while the site was down I browsed my tbr list and found this gem by Eloisa James. It’s a historical novel, which I typicallly don’t read, but decided to give it a try. So worth it. Laugh out loud humor.

“Prudence Larkin just told me that the two of you were matched in heaven by the Angel Gabriel himself,” she said. “I asked her to describe him and she took offense.”

I’m also watching Twilight movies again....10 yr anniversary. Feels very warm and comforting....a special place

Such a great series! I read them years ago, and have reread them multiple times since. I've met Deb quite a few times as well, and she is so lovely and makes you want to support her even more!
The TV series just started!! I can't wait until it hits the USA, sadly we have to wait until early 2019. :(

Here's the TV schedule if you're interested, but I do highly recommend the books! :) Her new one in the All Souls World was just released last week. :)

How did I miss that they are making a TV series!  I really liked A Discovery of Witches, now I'll have to find a way to watch it.  And there was a new book, man I really am behind.

Anyone have any recommendations where Bella is the damsel in distress and Edward rescues her? I am thinking something along the lines of the first story in the Gravity series by Drotuno.

I see that she has removed this story from ff.  AND - it's not in THE list. I have a pdf of it. If you want it, it's yours. If not delete this post. :)

She removed all her stories, leaving a message so she doesn’t lose her reviews.

I was in Forks last month for the annual Forever Twilight in Forks festival. We celebrated 10th Anniversary with Catherine Hardwicke and a few of the other actors. It was a blast! The VPs of Marketing for Summit were there too, that was cool to hear their stories... also their take on the "scandal" :)

Anywho, I'm very much still in Twilight land since being there for a week and also venturing around Oregon to all the filming locations <3

Which actors were there? It seems that our mains are more than happy to leave Twilight far behind them, sad to say.

I would love to visit the area, not just because of Twiight, but because that area in general has always interested me. I've been all over the US, but not there.

I would love to visit the area, not just because of Twiight, but because that area in general has always interested me. I've been all over the US, but not there.

Last year Jackson Rathbone, Michael Welch, and Chaske Spencer came... ALL freaking adorable and very approchable and so much fun at the parties.
This year it was Kiowa Gordon (He played Embry), Guri Weinburg (He was Romanian Stefan), Ayanna Berkshire (the waitress at the Forks Cafe), and Erik Odom (one of the nomads). Kiowa was a hot mess *hahaha.. I feel like he was drunk the whole time ;) Guri was pretty reserved, but Erik was super fun and danced and did karaoke with everyone. Ayanna ended up being super wonderful. At first I was like.. wth... whyyyy.. random! *ahaha.. But she was so humble and sweet. We ended up Team Berry Cobbler ;)

Did you see the Facebook Live from the NYC Comic Con?! Jackson Rathbone, Kellen Lutz, and Edi Gathegi were there for a special 10th Anniversary panel. It is SO good!! You have to watch it if you a chance. Its on the main Twilight FB Page. Anywho, Kristen did a pre-recorded message to everyone... it was.. meh... in her wonderful Kristen personality. But ROB (the precious  >:D) did a LIVE Skype!! OMG... I was dying the whole time, it was so great. I still fangirl hard on that sexy man!  :)

I hope you get to!!! The area is just BEAUTIFUL, and honestly, I want to move there someday... anywhere in the PNW. Last month was my 4th trip up that way, and it truly is a magical place.

The movie locations are super fun, those are in Oregon. There's just something special about seeing it all in person. It's pretty awesome. :)

I have to reread the All Souls Triology before I can watch it.

I just have to finish the book I had just started when I found out about the show (and new book) and not reread "Take the Ice" again. Today I my 7 year old daughter to watch one of her friends skate in a competition and it whenever I watch figure skating I get sucked into rereading that fic.

I’ve been using Fanfictiondownloader for years and recently tried to do the update it says is there when I open it, but when I try to reach the page to install it the page says Loading...Please wait and nothing. It didn’t bother me much until today when the old version stopped working for me.

I want to download a few stories, so I am lost.

I’ve looked at ficsave, but I am uncomfortable with their homepage mentioning bitcoin - I don’t want to risk downloading malware.

Anyone know what’s happening with FFDL?
