One injection down, one to go to full vaccination.  I guess we'll see if it works, although I plan to continue full court press on the masks until we (hopefully) hit the herd immunity numbers.  And, in case anyone is in any doubt, Greg Abbott, the so-called governor of Texas, is an idiot only looking out for himself and not the rest of Texas.  Sorry, sorry, no politics here.  I thought he was an idiot even before the pandemic and the Texas power outage during a ferocious winter storm (for Texas).  To be fair, I don't think we've had a decent governor since at least the 80s.

Looking for AU recommendations where Bella is older and returns to Forks. When I say older, like she’s just returned home from college, and it’s still feasible for the Cullens to still be living there, but getting close to them leaving.

It’s just a distraction from real issues. Take the focus of Ted Cruz and the real deal with the power company.
What I’d really like him to do is if he feels so safe and secure let him and his loved ones go out in public everyday and mingle with the “common folk”.  Go visit those people still without water.
Thanks FFG wanted to get that off my chest. Sorry all for the hijack.

I had my second vaccination (Pfizer) on Monday with most of the staff I work with.
At work we've been told that masks is now a permanent fixture no matter what happens with Covid and most people I know that work in retail have been told the same as well. There goes my plan of going out mask free on June 21st when our lockdown is (hopefully) over.  :'( :D

After one shot, my arm is a little swollen at the injection site, but that's my only side effect so far. I, too, got the Pfizer vaccine.  I've read that side effects are more likely after the second shot.

I am questioning getting the inoculation. I'm a high-risk person with many allergies. I'm glad you've not had to endure any side-effects. I'm REALLY begging you NOT to make this site in any way political. I've abandoned more fics than I can write down just due to this with their author's notes (and I was enjoying their fanfic). I truly hope that fanfic readers/reviewers can have an ACTUAL neutral zone. Gosh, it's what this heart hopes for. I've been disappointed; however, by several. Please, please, I know during these trying times people get beyond frustrated. However, so many readers/reviewers/fans, etc., come from all frames of reference. This place should be forever declared a total "friends" zone. Take my 2-cents for what it's worth. After all these years, I've considered you a very loyal, patient friend with a talent like no other. I admire your governor. My brother (now deceased) was a paraplegic. I'm amazed by this man and what he has accomplished and continues to do. My brother lived during an age where many of those type of endeavors were not possible. *shrugs*

I'm sorry for your loss.  I'm blessed in not having anything beyond inconvenient reactions to dust/pollen and other things that give everyone a reaction, so I can be happy to have the vaccine available without having to really think much about a possible abnormal reaction.  Last political statement.  I, too, was once an admirer of Greg Abbott, back when he was elected Attorney General.  However, I believe he moved away from what he claimed to stand for, and we have parted ways. I do admire him for not allowing the loss of his mobility to keep him down.

I anxiously await what you endure from these vaccines because I KNOW I will be pestered by my doctor to get these shots. Yea, I'm worried due to my allergies. I don't get the flu shot due to my health circumstances. It's hell to grow old! :) Thank you so much sweet FicfanGirl!

I would also beg ff readers and writers to please keep it fandom based. I know everyone's views are personal and valid, but ff is an escape for many. I would hate for fics or boards like this to get shut down because of political arguments that tend to get heated because everyone is passionate. (Star wars is my big love now, and there's been groups shut down b/c of this and authors pulled works too)
But that's my 2 cents, I know I'm not a huge contributor here or to the fandom.

After my 2nd one my diabetes and asthma seemed to be affected slightly (Blood sugar was higher than normal and with my asthma I had to take my inhalers and nebuliser more than I normally would), but now a week later everything has settled and I feel absolutely fine.

Whereas I know people that had the Astrazeneca (Oxford) vaccine and have really suffered; they've had really bad headaches, diarrhoea, vomiting, dehydration, excessive sweating and joint pains.

I'll have to watch my asthma with allergy season coming up, but I'm not likely to be getting the vaccine anytime soon.  Austria was relying on the EU to get the vaccine supply and that hasn't been going very well, so it might be summer before it's my turn.

I haven't been on in ages, but just thought I would pop in to say hi, since I think someone on here recommended "A Discovery of Witches" and I just reread the series so I could watch the second season on the tv show, so I was thinking of y'all.

Most of the people I know who had AstraZeneca said their side effects varied from a couple of days to a couple of weeks, so I know none of them are/were particularly looking forward to their second one.  :o

Is there just a season for allergies these days, lol. My hay fever seems to be all year round the last couple of years which has been a right pain in the a$$. I did read that there has been a lot of hassle with vaccine supplies in the EU, fingers crossed this gets sorted out soon.
