hi! so recently i discovered the Let Your Light Shine/A Life Extraordinary/This Hungry World fic trilogy and i loved it and was wondering if anyone knew of any fics similar to those ??
So:
- the honeymoon on isle esme with no pregnancy, their developing sex life and bella becomes a vampire without the emergency that came from vampire hybrid labor, a focus on B/E’s adjustment to married life (example of a recent fic might be DaniDarlingxx’s The Rapture?)
or
- a series that starts from a canon point but splits off into a different telling of Bella becoming a vampire, adjusting to a new life, growing in the marriage with Edward and living with the cullens (maybe similar to drotuno’s Angel series?)

i’m hope this isn’t too specific or too broad a request for recs…I know there’s obviously a ton of fics that feature these qualities but I guess I’m asking for favorites or ones that especially remind you of LYLS in quality. I found the trilogy through searching for fics on this site and it’s not on any fic site anymore, so I’d have never discovered it otherwise. this is me hoping there’s more hidden gems you all might know of :)

Hello, does anyone know of any fics that have Bella and Edward both drink human blood. I only know of "Bloody Kisses" ( I think that's the title).

Thank you.  :-*

I haven't read Torn, but here's a troubled Bella I enjoyed:

Hallett Hall
By: jaxington
On our first night away at college, Bella Swan, thinking the room was her own, drunkenly stumbled into my bed. She was broken and I wanted to fix her. I loved her for four years before she left. Never did I expect her to come back, but she surprised me.

I miss you (and many others) and the wonderful conversations we used to have here about, well, everything!  I also enjoyed living vicariously through you and your love life.  Loopy doesn't make it on often, since due to her huge heart and seemingly boundless energy, she has become like the old woman who lived in a shoe.  My family has, so far, stayed away from "the covid" although the situation has been less than ideal for their educational endeavors.  My boys both are graduating (1 college, 1 high school) in a couple of weeks and it looks like they will have in-person graduation ceremonies.  The college graduation ceremony might be interesting since they've invited the graduates from 2020 and 2021 to also attend.  Hope things are happy, healthy and prosperous for you!

Hiya hun, you've been missed. I miss the days when we would all start a discussion about fics and then go waaaaaaay off subject.  I think we've all got old(er).  :D

This is the best description of my life atm, as we officially finished the adoption of our 4 God-daughters meaning we have 6 kids in the house aged between 5-13!! I feel sorry for Saxon and the hubby as the place is over run with us girls.
I also become Nan again last month to a little girl, so our oldest (who is 23) has 2 boys (7 and 4yrs old) and a girl now.

Congrats on your sons graduations - time really does fly by.
I know that when my cousin graduated (high school in Kansas) in 2020 he had to do it via Zoom, so for you to have actual ceremonies even if it does have previous years included should make for a couple of gtreat days.   :)

Hi eveyone!

Yes, it’s been waaaayyyy too long since we’ve gabbed about anything under the sun. Guess we all got very busy in our real life, moreso with the stresses of the pandemic. It’s been hard to “deal” sometimes. :( From time to time I look for familiar names in some of the posts/thanks, to be reassured you are all hopefully still alive and not a casualty of covid  :tear:  Thankfully, my family has so far been spared. Hope you all were too and will continue to pray it is so for us all.

Whoa, Loopy! You sure have a full house! And OMG, your grandson is already 7?  :o Where did the years go?!

Congratulations, Ficfangirl! I forgot our kids are almost the same ages. My daughter also graduated college in 2020 and only had a virtual ceremony. She was really sad bec she was a magna cum laude and the program awardee (meaning highest) for her Management course (ehem pardon this proud mother for crowing  :D). She didn’t experience walking on stage and being recognized for her awards. We just tried to give positive reinforcements then, she wouldn’t have a great job if she didn’t graduate magna etc so all is not about the ceremony but the opportunities for a better job/life. Think there is also talk for the 2020 and 2021 to be invited to their school’s graduation this year. Hope that pushes through for her.

My son also graduated high school in 2021, virtual ceremony too. His first time to go to an onsite class was last Friday (already 2nd sem of his freshman year). Only 14 out of the 34 students in his class went. But at least he was happy to finally see some teachers and classmates in person.

May I ask for your prayers for our country, the Philippines? We just had our elections yesterday and looks like the son of our former dictator we ousted in a people power movement in 1986 will become our new president (Marcos) and the daughter of our incumbent president (Duterte) will win as vice president. Sometimes it is hard to love your countrymen when they believe fake news, tiktok and social media over real facts. Hard to describe our feeling of helplessness, anger, and embarrassment for our country. I know this is not like Ukraine, but god, our 3rd world country truly needs help. I hope we can prove massive cheating happened and our candidate, VP Leni Robredo, will win. But if the manual count will show the same results, god save our country and the imbeciles who believed in fake news and accepted payments for their vote.

Aarrrgggghhh, sorry didn’t want to vent/rant after being silent here for too long. The hurt and worry is so very real though. Still, you see a lot of jokes about the situation. People wanted to file a bereavement leave today because hope and our country just died. Oh well, life goes on, pray for us! 🙏

Your grandson is 7?!?! Wow... Time has definitely flown by!

Great to "see" old friends popping up

All is well in my little family. We made it to Nov of 2021 without getting Covid, then we all had it at the same time. The kiddos bounced back after a few days, however, hubby and I took a few weeks to start feeling better. Losing our taste and smell was the strangest experience!! But, thankfully we made it through safely.

My life didn't change much during quarantine. I've worked from home for so long, so nothing really changed. Thankful to have kept working, but a little time off would have been nice  :P My hubby is an essential worker, so he also worked. Online school for the kiddos was definitely an experience!! So weird, and they each had struggles in different ways. Both my kids promoted to different schools during quarantine, and both missed their ceremonies :(

Something new... I taught myself how to sew! :) YouTube is amazing, I definitely needed an outlet being stuck at home all day. I made hundreds and hundreds of masks, donated, and sold. Who knew I liked to be creative? I've made a bunch of other things now too, I love it!

Still reading quite a lot, but it's been quite some time since I've picked up a FanFiction, which makes me sad. It was my whole world for such a very long time.

Anywho, so good to "see" you guys on here!!! I miss the good 'ole days, we had so much fun on this page  :-*

Loopy, sounds like your daughter is going to be busy!  I knew about your daughter's first child, but I must have missed the info about the second one, and now she's on her third.  And what fun to have aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews growing up together!  I can imagine massive amounts of confusion amongst themselves and to outsiders when they try to explain their familial relationship.  Do you have noise cancelling headphones?

Thanks for the congrats on my boys.  We're very proud of them.  Plus, we'll have another graduation next year when my daughter graduates with her masters degree.  The other good news is my son who is graduating from college actually has a job.  Now, he just needs to get an apartment.  As soon as I get both boys out of the house, we're going to start redecorating!

Booked, belated congrats on your kids' graduations. I know it was disappointing to have to do it by zoom.

I was so grateful that my kids were not graduating during the "zoom" years.  My oldest boy did start to have some depression issues due to the isolation of going to school in his apartment on his own.  The youngest did school on line, but he's so introverted he didn't care, plus he was not as isolated as my older boy because he had his parents for company, plus my daughter moved back to her hometown and came over regularly.

I saw a news segment about the Philippines election and was surprised to see a Marcos running for president and doing well.  While I don't think it's quite as bad here yet, I truly sympathize with you. I don't understand what's happening in the world right now. (But, we're not talking politics here because we want it to be a happy place.)

I know right!?! Makes me feel really old as my daughter will be 24 in September.  ???

Congratulations on your sons graduation from HS and massive congrats to your daughter as well, it's a real shame she was unable to have an "in person" ceremony.

Ohh hun, I really feel for you and your country . I watched the piece John Oliver did a few weeks ago about  Duterte, his parents, the VP and the election and was shocked by it.  :'( Hope that things don't get too bad and everyone with any sense who believes the real facts can manage to get through this. :-*

Be Safe  :sparklyheart:

Sorry that you got Covid, glad that you all got through it though.

Glad that you manage to pick up a new skill during lockdown and one that's always handy to have (says as someone who can't knit, sew etc). Well done on making masks and helping others out with them, things like this really helps when people are struggling.   :-*

I don't read too many fics these, mainly re-reads if I'm at work and stuck for something to read on my break (if I get one). Otherwise, most of my "reading" comes in the form of audiobooks as sitting down for a while with a book just doesn't happen much these days.

Luckily she's the manager of the shop she works at so she's managed to wrangle 6 months maternity leave (including some annual leave she was due), so that definitely helps and her b/f helps when he gets home. They live over 300 miles away, so we only get to see them a couple of times a year (during the summer holidays and normally before Christmas).  :(
The hubby loves freaking people out by telling them he's a Grandad of 3 and father to a 23yr old, all at the ripe old age of 34! The looks on peoples faces are hilarious sometimes.  :P

That's great new on your son getting a job, fingers crossed on the apartment hunt. My MIL re-decorated as soon as her youngest moved out a couple years ago, just before the pandemic and lockdown and kept busy throughout. Once she did one room, she caught the decorating bug and wanted to do the rest.

This feels like a family reunion…lol. So good to hear that we’re still hanging in there.
Congrats to all your children’s achievements. They have done you and themselves proud.

May we all continue to strive in these trying times.

On a lighter note, if you haven’t seen our boy in Batman, go now!

“Our boy” who is 36 yo. Now don’t you feel old!

Ok, anyone else feeling frustrated by Goodreads new policy about adding books? That it can only be done by the librarians? I think I might close my account over there because waiting for days or weeks for a book to be added is just frustrating. Maybe it is just me.....
