I just updated my Calibre for the first time in a while, and all my plug ins are gone! Has anyone else had this problem? Now, I have to not only remember all of what I had, redownload them, AND reconfigure Apprentice Alf!

That shouldn't have happened. I rarely update Calibre though. When I read what they updated, it never seems important.

Let me know if you need help on the reconfiguring. :(

So I hear a lot of talk about how much Twifiction has slowed down.  Based on an unscientific survey, it seems there's been a considerable drop off in Harry Potter, Hunger Games, True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse fanfiction, as well.  Although I will say I think there is still new fanfiction in the Twilight and Harry Potter fandoms, and a surprising amount of activity in The Vampire Diaries. Is there another burgeoning fandom?  Anyone have a clue what the next big thing is that attracts teens and adults?  See anything on the horizon?
It could be we have to go somewhere like Wattpad for new stuff.  Truthfully, I haven't seen anything really big since Hunger Games.  Maybe Stranger Things?  I hear people talking about that, though I haven't watched it yet. Nothings really sucked me in yet.

I will tell you completed fics have slowed down but it's still a steady amount from the last year.  A few authors are still writing, though most of the new ones aren't that great.  You know,  the ones that sound like they are written by a teenager. Though I keep hoping. There's a lot of old stories I haven't read yet, so I continue to plug away.

I think there's enough out there that I have not read that I could stay busy even if no one wrote another Twilight fanfiction.  But I think I would miss the thrill of the notice in my inbox when I'm following an enticing WIP.  I've got two stories right now that are killing me, but they're HP rather than Twilight.

I was going to start reading drotuno's latest Gravity one, but I can't handle the suspense with the wait. And then she had some RL problems that interfered with her writing - she's back again - but still, if I was left hanging? I can't stand the stress. LOL! Even though I know it will be a happy ending.  Sigh.

But part of me really loved the waiting for an update. Just not on angsty ones.

I don't know.  The angsty ones might be the best.  The ones leaving me on tenterhooks after each weekly update are, of course, angsty.  As long as the authors post consistently, I can handle it.  It's the flaky ones that drive me bonkers.  Remember how crazy we all were when Dusty was a WIP?

Well, you all were. I heard angsty and I ran in the opposite direction  LOL!

But I do know what you mean. There were a few that had me going crazy with the lack of updates.

Same here. I started reading it and I seriously couldn’t handle it. Nothing redemptive in that story line.

I hope I’m posting this correctly, if not please feel free to move it wherever.

I’ve been searching for historical fix’s lately. Sadly I’ve not been able to find nearly enough stories to satisfy my craving. I really love western ones and have read everything suggested on twificrecs, and anything that comes up in searches on stars or ffn. But I’ve reread them more times than I can count. I’ll take anything from colonial times to WWI preferably all human and most definitely E/B.

PLEASE HELP! I’m begging I need new reading material!

I recall we have the same taste, veering towards the funny HEA, preferably actorward or sportsward, rather than the angsty ones.  ;)

Sadly, haven’t made a dent on my TBR Twific. Only read 2 last year, none so far in 2019  :(

Though am keeping my fingers crossed that Drotuno will finish the latest Mercward.

Couldn’t seem to get into the groove of reading new writers (pubd nor twific). I just finished re-reading the entire Rock Chick series of Kristen Ashley (for the 3rd time, some books for the 5th). Will never get tired of her work! KA is my go to author of all time.

Now re-reading McNaught’s Sequel series, my first historical in years. Finished the first 2 and about to start the last one. Still great after all these years.
