A little (clothing) help needed
« on: June 27, 2012, 12:51 PM »
So. I have recently (6 months ago) moved to a new apartment.
The only difference between this and the previous one is that the ne ;Dw  flat is in an old building (built in 1940). It was darn expensive and it has big airy rooms. I personally LOVED it…but now…

Any way, all was well until my clothes started staining in the closets.
The closets are new. Nobody smokes in our apartment.
First it was only noticeable on white clothes, but I am now seeing it on all of my clothes.
Some of the clothes are new, some are older, some are never worn. These are NOT old stains. These yellowish stains appear on the shoulders and sleeves when the clothes are on a hanger, or one exposed areas when folded (the top shirts front side, the shirts under that- only the fold).  :'(

So…I am asking you other fashion lovers on PTS…do you have any idea what it is? Some kind of moisture stains? What kind? Maybe mold? Again, what kind? And….most importantly- how do I stop it? The stuff that was not worn for more than 30 days has ugly brownish yellow stains and I am unable to remove some of them- even with dry-cleaning.
I put some of my stuff in to air-tight bags now, but I am unable to put all my thing in to them, seeing as how I am supposed to use them rather often. :-\

Any help or ideas are very much welcome.  8)

I'm the other way. Just started getting a few strands although I noticed a lot of the "new" hair growing in at my temples are pretty grey.

 >:(  would you like me to help you rub some more salt in my wound?

:) You're lucky, I have to go every 3 months at the latest to have it done. I can't even do it at home anymore.

LMAO...I apologized to my mom for being such a p.i.t.a growing up. My oldest was a holy terror. It's a wonder he made it to his last birthday. So far *fingers crossed* things are much smoother with my youngest, except for #3 who was giving his oldest brother a run for his money but the last few years have been tame.
I bet you laugh your head off at your kids saying " karma's a b!tch" isn't?

I totally do!! My middle and youngest were pretty quiet except for when the youngest rode a tonka truck down the hill, crashed and broke his hip. The week before High School started too!! He spent the first 2 months at school on crutches. Older school too. Lots of stairs.  :D :D

Not sure what causes it probably some type of oxidation but you should try Oxyclean. I heard it removes those stains without damaging the fabric. Good luck.

I think the only thing you can hunt (legally) this time if year is turkey so if you catch any I'll be happy to take one if your hands.  I have deer meat :sign0137: in my freezer I can trade you with.

It's not quite turkey season yet.  My BIL will have about 3 of them due to family members [now who gets them might be a different story... but each family member will get a turkey officially. ]

I dont think i could eat gator or snake. What do they taste like and don't you dare tell me they taste like chicken!   :D
The  moose and horse I was tricked into eating and the deer I tried voluntarily but it wasn't a lot. I don't know if its just knowing what it was that weirded me out or what but I didn't like the taste. I even have a hard time cooking it for hubby. *shudder*

We grew up eating everything but horse & gator so no biggie for me. The snake squeed me out tho. It's kinda like seafood, if you cook it too long it gets really chewy and hard to eat but not bad. It does not taste like Chicken IMO. It eats meat so it doesn't have the grainy taste like the others. It's denser too. I had gator at a bbq in Texas. Also meat eater but this was in gumbo & really yummy. Cajuns know how to cook their dino's apparently.

Beef, chicken/turkey and pork are the only meats I'll eat. I don't like fish, wild game and nothing exotic. I am such a boring foody.

LMAO.....A friend of mine is even worse then me. Her husband has a hard time making dinners because she's so picky. Plus she hates the way food tastes bbq'd :o
I love when I can BBQ. From now till Oct I BBQ at least 3 times a week.
