And how about the doctors, patting us on the head and telling US what was wrong with us instead of listening, how many died because of a male doctor that was an ass. I lost a sister to brain cancer because 'she was lookin for attention' after I was 'lookin for attention' with rheumatic fever. But the boys get a 'hangnail' and 'oh we gotta check it out.'Those women were often ostracized for trying to make an important point.
Ah you hit the nail on the head with this subject. I wonder a lot today why on earth don't the women band together and freaking force the goddamn males in their place? I mean it. The last I've read about statistical data there were 9 women per 1 man. And that was ages ago, I'm sure numbers are even more in our favor now. So, wth? What's it gonna take it for us to drag our heads out of our asses and act? ;/I'm all for matriarchate, seems only fair after living for so damn long under the thumb of the "stronger" sex.
Some are conditioned from birth. My mom raised strong independent women like her mom & dad did. I had 2 children and bought a house on my own before getting married. Part of my family said I was a slut. My mom said I would make an honest man out of hubby eventually, which I did lol. But I never ever thought I should get married.
Kudos, drypen!(Yeah, a man is a lover, but a woman is a slut. NOT)Yes, there were many, many strong, independent women. Always have been, always will be.Really, how else was the world brought to order and, at least, partially civilized? But it wasn't till those wonderful women in the '60's-'70's banded together that women started setting things straight. It's unfortunate that we have stopped short.(It probably took so long because of the deep-seeded female reluctance to bruise the delicate male ego ).Most memorable male quote from a bygone age:"Now, don't you worry your pretty little head about it."
And s.e.x.u.a.l equality, hah! "... with the 1970s ... bralessness and the s.e.x.u.a.l revolution... somehow... meant primarily being more s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y available to men, and still doing all the laundry, cooking and house-cleaning...." And now it seems that teenage girls have no excuse for not putting out. If they don't want to lay on the backs, they can drop to their knees. And what exactly do THEY get out of dropping to their knees? Is this s.e.x.u.a.l equality?
