HAND SANITIZERIf we don't have hand sanitizer gel. We can make one using alcohol and aloe vera or glycerin gel. The measures would be to mix two parts of alcohol and one part of aloe vera or glycerin gel. If the alcohol is 90º or more, it will be necessary to add a part of distilled water or boiled water once it is cold. You mix everything and it is ready to use.Alcohol kills the bug and aloe vera gel or glycerin is to keep your hands from drying out and cracking. If we do not have access to aloe vera or glycerin, we can wash ourselves with alcohol and then add moisturizer.
Lack of test kits and their components in Canada are resulting in Numbers of cases that appear to be lower than they actually are. This gives people a false sense of semi-security and many are ignoring the self-distancing suggestions. If you have no symptoms or mild symptoms, you are told to go home and isolate. No test. People were coming back from overseas at airports, with no screening here and no tests. Finally, they have installed kiosks that indicate they should self isolate at home. Did they not foresee these people running out for groceries before self-isolating? Now they have canceled flights. Hospitals are running out of masks, ventilators and ICU beds and we haven't even seen the worst of it yet. No masks in stores anywhere.
HOME ENTRY PROTOCOLS. ACTIONS AGAINST COVID-194.- Take off your outer clothing and put it in a laundry bag (with bleach, recommended over 60º).
Here where I am in Georgia all the stores have sold out of regular alcohol. I went to my local package store and bought a bottle of Everclear 190. It is almost pure grain alcohol and used it to substitute for rubbing alcohol. I didn't try to turn it into hand sanitizer, I just bought some small bottles and poured some of the Everclear in them so I could carry it with me. I also bought some the travel size Gold Bond ultimate healing lotion with aloe from Walmart. I dash a bit of the Everclear over my hands then follow with the lotion to moisturize.
Most countries lack the necessary amount of tests, so they choose who gets it. Quite arbitrarily, if I might add. Also, many people are asymptomatic so there's no way to accurately measure it. They estimate how many have it vs confirmed cases. We have less than 150 confirmed cases here in Argentina and the whole country has gone into a sort of lockdown. Only people who work in hospitals, pharmacies, restaurants (only delivery, not even take out), and supermarkets are allowed to be out. The rest of us have to stay home for 15 days. I'm a teacher and switching to online classes has been challenging. The kids are scared, anxious. I´m not afraid of the virus itself, as most people would survive it. I'm more afraid of the economic impact it will have and the havoc it is wreaking on public health. No country is prepared for that many people gettting it at the same time.
Bleach on clothes? I don't wear white so not sure I could follow this step.
It's expensive but alcohol is also vodka or similar. Look that kind of things. Smelly but is alcohol. Be safe
Be sure to consider the alcohol content of the spirits you are buying. The average vodka is only about 40% alcohol which is not strong enough per CDC. You have to purchase a high proof alcohol. The higher the proof the better if you are going to mix it with aloe, oils, and water to make a hand sanitizer mix.
That's the idea. What do we value most: life or the economy? I firmly believe that Solidarity is the answer to maintain quarantine (which is 15 days if it is done well, or is going longer as it happens in Spain because they are doing it wrong). What is worse for the economy: 15 days, everyone standing up, at home, safe, less those we cannot or more time? I believe that 15 days is not so long and all of us, together, can pass the disease and then help each other through whatever comes financially. But if we do not do one thing or another, in the end the deaths will be more and we will have a much worse crisis.Have you seen the press conference of the head of the Chinese Red Cross in Italy? You are not allowed to view links.
