I like to read allot of crime, sci-fi and mystery novels. I also read allot of mythology and supernatural reference books. If you like Shōnen style manga, then I would recommend checking out The Wallflower (aka Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge), Fruits Basket and CardCaptor Sakura they are really good to read. But personally, I read allot of martial arts, horror and sci-fi based manga, Hokuto No Ken, Souten No Ken, Battle Royale, Ghost In The Shell....
Join the club, Lexie. I'm the same way trying to keep up with the rest of you guys on the other threads.
Oh.. the opposite, I like that moment when Kaname revealed the truth to Yuki..I'm touched by Yuuri-sama (Yuki's mother) sacrifice.I'm actually Kaname-Yuki pro, but things getting harder since Kaname left Yuki's side and turn into the antagonist one!!!!! arrrgghhh but I still believe in Kaname. Although I have a feeling that it will be a tragic ending for him T^T I don't like it though..I see.. I don't find any too.I read both of it..Prince of Tennis.. Ahh Ryouma-kun!!! and the unexpected brother, Ryoga-kun Yakitate Japan~ I don't think the story is more cliche than I expected but I like it Yes I know! xDthere's even a video (which believed as part of the original version of ep 25 before cut, when it showed Lelouch's face!!) and pictures (a poster which showed that Lelouch holds a dog in his lap with C.C's siluet behind it in a farm) xD xDCan't wait for Code Geass season 3 : Akito the Exiled, although Lelouch isn't the main chara again, but I hope he will show up there the setting is set 9 years after the emperor lelouch's death in Europe.
Hey, Darkguyver. I just noticed this one, (yep, I'm back reading the replies. ), but um, Is Fruits Basket and Card Captor Sakura Shonen? aren't they Shoujo?
Oh My.. I didn't know if there's already so many comments!well, let me reply it one by one first! *getting excited XDI've read the synopsis!! but still haven't read it, the one that I tried to read lately is Pandora Hearts..don't worry, it's on my-read-list xDDand as for Dengeki Daisy, I've read it for 1-2 chapters but then I was not sure to continue it just like Kimi no Todoke. Have you ever heard about it?Hello too there! xD I'm so excited too!! xo xo lol!I've watched initial D every weekend when I was in elementary school, and I like it a lot too xDSKIP BEAT!! OMG! It's one of the best manga I've ever read. It made me laugh very hard because of Kyoko's sense in paranormal stuffs is so funny. lol lol lol lol!! and there's already the film/movie version of it too. Kyoko is roled by Ivy chen, Tsuruga Ren by Siwon-Super Junior, and Fuwa Shou by DongHae-Super Junior!! I'm very looking forward to watch it xDD

I didn't thought Yamato Nadeshiko was partly shonen, and even Fruits Basket...
Well, Card Captor Sakura really has some shonen elements in there and I know a lot of guys who watch the anime and read the manga. CCS is packed with action. I think its some what like Claymore in a way that the female character battles. (but Sakura isn't tsundere type, isnt she?)
Its really hard to categorize manga/anime, there's a lot of genres like josei, ecchi, seinen, yuri, shonen-ai, hentai, etc. As for me, I just read the ones that I'm interested in regardless of what genre it is.
Speaking of Battle Royale, have you watch the movie?
And im interested in Norse mythology right now, Roman/Greek gods are so cliche... do you have a book about Norse mythology or have a title you can recommend? Thanks.
As I have said it is hard to classify manga titles at times due to the fact that you have to take into consideration content, storyline, character developments, settings.... But since both of these are set during the High School years, they are typically classified as Shonen.
I haven't seen or read Claymore. But CardCaptor Sakura is a really good anime and manga. I remember watching the horrible English dub on Nickelodeon a few years ago. I saw CCS on an anime torrent site and read great reviews on it so I decided on giving it a try. I was glad to discover that it was better than the English dub.No, Sakura is actually quite a warm, loving, and friendly character.
Exactly as most of anime/manga do fall into my genre types. It is always be to give the new titles a try before dismissing them, you never know you might like some of them.
Yeah, I have seen both movies and read the manga, still to read the novel. The first movie in my personal opinon is the best of the two. The plot for the second movie was very basic and too easy to follow. The first movie had more to offer in terms of character development, relationships and action. The manga gives you and even more indepth view into some of the other characters personalities.
I can't think of any of hand, but I did download a couple of mythology books for free of the manybooks website.
You should try to read Claymore. Wont recommend the anime because the producers actually didn't follow the storyline thoroughly (I hate the ending). Well, the manga is still running unlike the anime.
And speaking of English dub, I do prefer subtitles when watching anime. It must be because I like reading a lot and I'm a frustrated "Japanese learner."
That's what I do most of the time. Though I really rely on recommendations before and learning what manga is in the "hype list" before reading.
I watched the movie before I've read the manga. I totally love both. First movie was great, even the gruesome scenes were shot beautifully [hey, don't equate me for a psycho because of that comment]. And the ending was mind-blowing. I feel for the characters especially for Noriko, she's a victim. She shouldn't be there. My problem with the second installment was that it bored me. I didn't get Shiori's character. I don't have that expected connection I thought I would have.
I haven't read the novel, too but its in my TR list.
I will give it a try after I've finished all the other books I've got in my reading list.
I tend to avoid the hype if I can, since it's often a turn off after reading such and such is really good and blah, blah, blah. I prefer just to check out the new title for myself.
Well if you know english and deutsch and scramble it together add a little french and latin, bake it and you have dutchReally jealous to of all those languages toWould love to learn chinese
Wow... this thread have been hijacked and rehijacked....
Some members had hijacked the thread. I noticed you've been gone for some time. why so?
Wow! I read Pandora hearts too. I like the mangaka's style. Light lines, love the intensity and hue of the drawings. ALICE is so cool! And OZ is just so adorable
Hiiii!Yessss! "A Kingdom of Dreams" is my favorite too! also I love "Something Wonderful" and Lisa Keyplas's books are great! and I will try your sujested books, at the moment I am checking them on You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login!Singing is a good way to learn Language, now I remember that how I learned English from the songs of "take That"! LOL! they were very popular boy band when I was 13 or 14 Well, Indonesian Language! maybe! I don't know!
I don't watch Code Geass though we do have dvd here in our house. When will the next season be released?
I read Kimi Ni Todoke but I'm not yet finished with it. I think Dengeki Daisy is more Technical in terms of hacking and stuffs. Kurosaki is a black hat back then nicknamed Daisy. So the author mostly discussed technical terms and such. I had to grasp my way in reading this but I love the comedy side and romance. I know Super Junior! :3 LOL. I think this thread will be a KPOP thread if you'll also reply again.

Hi! so you're a girl. I should have known. Well, I am, too, confused about your name. because our culture uses Nino for a boy/man's name. We tend to refer/used names ending in "o" for males and the names ending in "a" for girls. Its great to learn something new from a different country.
I knew English a lot, but Deutch and french (and latin).. well, I have to learn it first I guess, before beginning to learn 'Dutch'
Ah Mandarin! xD I think it's pretty complicated with 'the kanji'.hey, would you mind explaining to me about the 'hijacked' and 'rehijacked' mean?
lolI think madarin is out of my leage to hijacking a thread means you change the original subject which was manga here I believe? and change it to something else.....languages and mythology it was here
hey, would you mind explaining to me about the 'hijacked' and 'rehijacked' mean?
I read a lot this nowadays and completely lost my spare time^__^"I'm not really good yet when it comes about 'managing time' -__-
Yeah! I like Alice-Oz duo.Oz's little sister is adorable too xDalthough now Oz is younger than her little sister, the two of them are still cute to each other but Reo (from the other family who opposed Versaillus family) is lovely to me!Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Hijacked - it just mean you steer the topic of the post to another topic, completely devoid of any connection to the original one... Rehijacked - someone direct the thread to its original topic but then, someone replied an off topic post [rehijacked once again ] If you go back to the previous replies, you'll see what I mean... this is the longest thread for the "Introduce Yourself" board, I think and we can definitely make it longer and have it locked in a few months... I don't think drypen would mind.
Me, too. When i was in college, time-management was really a BIG & SERIOUS problem.
Oz/Alice pairing (WOW) Yes, Oz sister is really cute. UGH, don't spoil me!!!!!!!!!
is that so.. I see :/and I have asked about the locked thread as well before. But looks like there's no locked threads yet :|in another otaku site I joined, I've ever made my friend's and my introduction thread turned into a locked thread because we talked there until spent several pages xP
You know, I'm going to start my college this summer (July-August)!!!
haha, Oz and Alice are lovely and cute together xDespecially when they are pairing.yep! I think she will match with Reo but he is.... .__.have you finished reading the current chapter?if you have, you must be know what happened then .__.I stop reading it currently
I've just learned about the hijacked word from lexie accidentally and by reading some threads. What you and your friend did was cool. Never done that before myself.
I know. You and cassie, right? So yours start on July, in my country, the school year starts on the month of June and ends in March... we spend almost 10 months. Well, we do have breaks. Where are you studying? June onwards in the Philippines are consider wet season. If its summer on your place on July-Aug, I was just wondering, where could that be. Not yet updated, Im trying to skip reading and reread after they release 3 chapters or more. That's what I do for mangas which update/release monthly or bi-monthly.
Lol. that's just because there's a locked thread and the moderator is pretty strict .__.I received a bit shock back then -.- that's my first time after all
yes^^the entrance test will begin 7 days again, I heard if there'll have + 3 months break here.I'm in Jawa Timur province, near Surabaya. My college-to-be is in Surabaya city.now I think it's pretty mixed up between wet and dry season because of the global warming
I guess, it's because so you won't get some impatience effect if there's a cliffhanger in the ending of some chapters in the manga you're currently reading I always read it although it's monthly updated and bear some patience for the next chap xPas long as the scanlation didn't drop the project.
Lol. that's just because there's a locked thread and the moderator is pretty strict .__.
At least you've experienced it. Did they banned you from the boards?
Goodluck in your exam! Is that city near Jakarta or Bali? I remember a friend of mine mentioning the place, though, I forgot where she went in Indonesia. Definitely, global warming is a pain in the ass. You never know when you will need an umbrella or what dress to wear. Its becoming a big problem right now. Its hard to adjust-your lifestyle and habits. In my opinion, I think people should be more responsible and take this change [climate change] seriously. Public officials should promote eco-living. You know what, I think we're contributing to it... since we read digital books, we sort of reducing the number of trees being chopped down to be turn into paper. Imagine that, we are doing the world a great favor.
Yes. You are right. Obviously, that's the reason why I won't start another ongoing manga nowadays.
Hello, here hijacking is kind a good sport... lol threads use to be "locked" when they grow too much (100 pages) or there is a argument turning round.Hijack away
