Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I need to register?
A:
Everyone who wants to share and contribute needs to register. It is compulsory as we need to keep records of all the users and activity to ensure a safe and virus free community.

Q: How to register?
A:
For registering you just need to fill the the registration form. Choose your unique login name and password.
Then you'll receive an email containing activation link. Just activate your account and you're done.

Q: Why should I share my projects/works with others?
A:
We believe that knowledge is something that should be freely shared. "Knowledge grows when shared"
So if your projects/works can help someone gain some knowledge, then you would be contributing to the society.

A:
Anything which does not have copyright laws applied to them, or things which you have copyright permission to. Things like teasers and chapters (for authors), personal stories, poems, term papers, projects, etc.

A:
YES ! This is a free of cost sharing community.

Q: How can I keep myself protected from viruses?
A:
Follow some of these:
* Keep yourself away from suspicious websites.
* Install latest Anti-virus. I think AVG is the best.

* Whenever you download anything, make sure it's not an executable by itself.
* See the contents of zipped files before extracting.

Q: How do I use the search feature?
A:
There are two options available for searching-
-Search bar (top right on the page): type in your search query and select an option from the drop down box (entire forum, this board) and click search
-Search button (located along the info bar under your user name): type in search query and hit search
*Note: To bring up an 'Advanced Search' feature simply type one letter (for example: A) then search (again, if using search bar must select an option from drop down box) and click search. A new page will pop up- under the search bar you will see Advanced Search- click.

A:
Refer this topic. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Q: What is the rating (+/-) under user info on left side? Applaud/Smite?
A:
The number after the + is a positive rating, the - is a negative rating. To increase a members + rating, you can hit the Thumbs Up button or Thank their post/thread by clicking on Thank You button. To decrease their rating (adds one to the number behind the - sign) you must Smite by hitting the Thumbs Down button. Please do not smite members unless you have a good reason to do so as this is taken pretty seriously by some members.
*Only PTS Contributors, PTS Experts and Moderators have the ability to Applaud or Smite.

Q: What's the big deal about the Thank You button?
A:
The Thank You button is a kind way of telling someone that you appreciate their post or upload. You can only thank once per post but can thank as much as you'd like per day. You can see how many thank-you’s have been given or received by a member by looking under their username on the left of any post. The Thank You button is located on the top right corner of each post.
