Calibre: How to swich authors first and last names for multiple entries

I like having authors names appear AB in calibre by first name,last name as the files in calibre library . Too many books to do it manually.
If you are interested, i found a way !

Go to preferences > Tweaks > Author sort name algorithm.
In Edit tweak, replace the "comma" with "copy" ex:author_sort_copy_method = 'copy' hit apply ,it will ask you to restart (close and open calibre).
Then go to any book and click metadata ,press the blue arrow next to author's name ,keep it pressed until a box appears ,click on manage authors and recalculate all authors sort values ok.

That's it, all authors will appear alphabetically by first name  :) I love calibre!!

I hope this helps!

This is great, I use this method:
once I've edited metadata and ready to stark converting, I hi-light all the books go to edit metadata, tick the swap title and author box, click okay, now ready to convert.

Thanks for the easy to understand instructions!!!

I wanted to sort my library like that, but the directions I had found were like trying to read in a foreign language.  You're my hero!  ;)

I could never get this to work for me right so this is how I do it and I can do it in bulk by just highlighting the books I want to fix, its real fast.

You need to go to "Edit Metadata in Bulk" (context menu), go to the second tab "Search and Replace", there you select "Search Field" to be "authors" and (in some versions of Calibre) put the result back into "authors". "Search mode": Regular expression. Then for

FN LN --> LN, FN

Search for:(.*) (.*)
Replace with: \2, \1

LN, FN --> FN LN

Search for:(.*), (.*)
Replace with: \2 \1

You see at the bottom what's gonna happen to your selected items and can even test your own cases.

If you like what you are doing, you can save these cases, too. I actually call them "FN LN --> LN, FN" and "LN, FN --> FN LN". Then you just pull them down, as needed.

Hope this helps anyone that has had any problems like me :)

Thanks for the help so far, I have been able to filter out all the files that had been listed as (2010). However if you look at the titles of some authors, they have the book title in as well.

Is there any quick way of searching and replacing these or is it a one by one manual process?

Thanks

To add a little more into the confusion.

I did the fix listed above and renamed the authors names the correct way round. However some of them are out of place.

In the pic I include as an example Fern Michaels is listed under F and not M.

While most others are the correct order.

Any help?
