multiple series in calibre
« on: November 10, 2020, 03:58 AM »
Hi!

I don't find if it's possible to put a book in multiple series in calibre.

want to class it chronogically (in the universe) and also by the series book.
Example : "Star wars jedi genesis" on "star wars jedi genesis" and also on "before republic"

I know I can make a custom column, but i prefer, if it's possible, to make it with the series directly.

I try to put a & or a , but nothing...

thanks for your help!

Sadly, no, it's not possible (not that I know of, but you can go on calibre website, there is a wonderful guide which cover nearly all the problems you can meet one way or the other), when I ran into that problem, I created a custom column. Not only there is no other way, but it's also easier to manage!

The other option is to create an exact copy of the book but with the different series information on each copy.
You can do this by highlighting the book and going to:

Arrow next to "Add Books" > "Add Empty Book (Book Entry with No Formats)" > "Duplicate Current Book"

Hope this helps. :)
You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!

You should be able to just make your own series and then add the books in the order you would like.

Yeah, you can add books in a similar way in a video I did a while back.

I usually, in order to prevent it from clogging up duplicates, add the series in parenthesis after the title so all you'd have to do for the new series is the same just label it chronological or something.

I'm visual so here's a screen shot showing what I'm talking about.
