Given the action here today, I thought I should let you know that I'm flying home tomorrow for three weeks with the family. I probably won't be on here too much because I'll only have my iphone (which doesn't work too well where they live - Australia, where it's still 1990!) and my parents' computers.

My dad thinks he's a hacker (because he can click on a hyperlink!), he loves checking out the viewing history on the computers and I don't think he'll handle this site (not to mention the Adult Discussion Board!) at all.

I did tell Mum that I was chatting with some lovely ladies from the US and UK. I told her we talk about books and literature and share computer tips, recipes and handy hints. She's a bit worried that you're all dirty old men who want to kidnap me!

Anywho, I'm not sulking. I haven't been barred from the site. I'm just going to be 15 again for three weeks - you know, when "you live under my roof so you follow my rules", bedtime is 9:00 and computers are only for homework.

Thank god there'll be vodka!

You can always browse incongnito (Chrome) or privately browse (Firefox, Maxathon, etc) and then there's no browsing history saved!

EVERYTHING is a virus!

You know the clicking sound when you navigate on an ipod? When I hooked my ipod up to the sound system last year - that was a virus!

But I will have a great time - my family is clearly insane but wonderful! I'm so excited to be heading home again and for a happy occasion. The last time I went home was my grandmother's funeral.

But I will have my phone and it doesn't work too bad on the top storey of their house (provided the wind is blowing from the south east).

Oh God I hear ya, I'm off to my parents on Sunday and I'm just talking my laptop with me...I can't imaging being stuck in St Gallen with nothing to entertain me but a rickety eMac that my dad has had for 10 years and terrestrial TV, because after all who need 200 channel anyway!.....At least they like to drink so there will be plenty of booze...

You don't have to download anything extra to go private. In Firefox, you click "tools", then select "start private browsing". In Chrome, it's to the right, click "go incognito". In IE, at the top right of the screen, click the gear looking thing titled "tools" and select "safety", then "InPrivate Browsing". In IE, you can also do this by clicking ctrl+shift+p. Voila! Your browsing history is hidden, and those naughty pages don't show up, but their browsing history remains just as it was!

If you don't want to go private, in FF, you can also remove pages individually from your history without having to clear the entire history. Just click "history" then "show all history", then right click each entry you don't want shown, and click either "Delete" or "forget about this site".

ETA: I just checked, and the "control + shift+ p" thing also works for Firefox, probably chrome too, I don't have Chrome on this computer to check. So any time you want to go private, just click "ctrl+shift+p".

If you have an Apple product, you can "private browse" by going to Safari ---> Private Browsing. I do this on my mbPro when I go home and I see all the nieces and nephews and they need to an extra computer to play with.
