This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement. 

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Is each BDB book separate more-or-less? I was waiting for the series to complete before starting it, but if it's not necessary to read them in order, I might give a couple of them a try...

Oh no. Read in order. What I did dislike is there is too many characters deployed right off the bat and I couldn't keep them separate, but honestly,  I was tired of the made up words. When each book comes with her made up dictionary (and its a long one). Well that wasn't an easy read for me.

I eventually learned to like the characters though.

Book 2 -better
Book 3 - LOVEEEEED
Book 4 ok.
Never made it past that. I was expecting each book to get better and better. I skimmed all the lesser parts. When 4 wasn't as good as 3...I stopped. Of course I read all of them back to back. Maybe that is why I got burnt out.

Zsadist is my fav brother too!! You would have been so disappointed with the Blay and Qhinn book. I was looking forward to a little m/m romance but she kinda fkd it up I think. I also read them back to back thinking the series would eventually end but Ward keeps introducing new characters and it looks like its never ending.

My fav is Rhage (book 2) the way he loves his Mary is so very self-sacrificing and totally romantic, Z is a close 2nd.

Lol I loved Hollywood before he met Mary. After that I thought he was a sniveling, weak ass! I get that they love their women but I think Ward made him a little pathetic IMHO.

Oh honey if you're waiting for it to finish you'll be waiting a bloody long time! They have to be read in order otherwise you won't know which way is up. You'll also need to bookmark the dictionary in the beginning of the as RDM said because it takes a while for you to remember what all the made up words mean. I literally had a pen and paper ready while reading book one so I could remember things lol

Anyone read anything by Larissa Ione?
She just published a vamp one and I have many of her books on my TBR list.

I have read funny stories and sometimes after a really angsty one I need it. I like my vampires kinda tortured. I want feel Edward's want and desires. (not necessarily the blood but the other bodily needs) *wiggles eyebrows*

I guess after Grasping Darkness......pouts I want Windowward.
LOL! I think Edward is always tortured in vampfics.  He stresses about everything.  It's everything else that is funny.  Like Emmett trying to train Bella how to not use too much force.  It was really funny.  But Edward freaks out about everything.

Creature of Habit is great, but not very lemony if I remember correctly.  A little more canon.... Really enjoyed it.  Creatures is a really short read but good. 

The others are still on my TBR list.

OMG I have just read a mystery which also had a strong theme of Domestic Discipline.  My question is, are these people for real?  The male lead, punished the female lead because he had disobeyed him (you what?).  He spanked her until her bum was red and then took a wooden ruler to her, followed by a beating with a cane. Just to make sure she understood the lesson he finished off with a belt.  It was only once she was covered in welts from arse to heal that he was content.  Now call me naïve but that sounds like straight up abuse to me.  The female however, felt “loved” because although she was in great pain she knew he had punished her because he loved her.  Seriously???

I liked the sequel too, but I read it as a WIP and I am used to reading stories like that complete, so it didn't flow like I was used to, there were too many gaps (imagine that, having to wait a week to read the next part)

What..... My Mate has a sequel? I can't believe this, when did this happen?

I read Creature of Habit and liked it a lot...  I put in my notes that it was good, but not "top 10 good". LOL   Definitely worth the read though!  I can't remember the last BDB book I read.  I think it was the one right before the sister (Payne?) got her book.  I sort of got tired of them.

I've been struggling with the first RC book for about a week (Indy is ANNOYING!

..)...I've downloaded the whole series but the likelihood of me reading any further is next to zero...And Kim? S e x? What S e x? I have yet to get to anything which could be classified as such..and I'm half way through. :-\
I thought it was just me...  LOL  For some reason I thought these books were more lemony.  ;-)   It gets there eventually, but there is a LOT of fade to black.

I wouldn't mind an "after the battle" story, but I've never heard of one. And I know what you mean.  When starting Twilight fanfics, other than the rec'd stuff (My first was Quantum Fizzz's The Plan - all human, drabble), I was looking for after BD stories.  They were really hard to find.  At least good ones.

I've never read any HP fanfiction, but I heard that the series by G. Norman Lippert, which is based on Harry's son James, is good. It's the only HP ff I've DL'd, but haven't tried it yet.

Yes you should !!!! At least make sure you have a copy. Kiyaraven is publishing, so like most, her works could start disappearing.

The literary agent she sent the Diva Diaries to loved it. Now they are searching for a publisher.

This was my favorite "after BD" story.  I think it was Dooba's first.  Definitely before Torn.  I picked it up when it was a WIP.  She was much better at updating up until the end.  I think she has a hard time ending stories.  From what she said on this one, it was hard to leave the characters. 

If I think of any others, I will let you know.  Most I've read are kind of stupid.  I put up with them because I really want to read an after BD story.  But some are so so so bad.  One had some guy attacking Renesme with a knife.  She hunted bears, but a knife cut her?  I pm'd the writer that it didn't make sense, and she went off on me.  Last questionable comment I made.  Also, I flounced at that point.  :-\
