This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I'm halfway through Trippin, Slippin, Stumbletumblin and I'm still unsure about it. I like it and there are passages which are just wonderful and fantastic, but if I have to compare, I'd prefer Dusty. Like Demaris stated the other day: TeamBella kept Dusty real. Trippin is at times just a little too out of touch with the real world. Well...as real as it can be...it's vampward after all. Trippin is more poetry than novella to me. Can anybody understand what I mean?
I'm still curious how the story goes on though. I had to get into her writing first.

I'm at 75% now with TSS and I absolutely love it... but the thing I love about it is how beautiful her writing is. I completely get where you're coming from saying its more like poetry! It's beautiful and I love that it's not real world. That makes this story more enjoyable! And this Edward really reminds me of the old-fashioned Edward from the book. Oh and I never even asked going into this one whether or not it had an HEA. I'd like to hope that if someone ever sees me accidentally jumping off that cliff that they'll throw me a rope with a warning! ;-)

I was so afraid of being overwhelmed with fics so I've tried to keep my TBR list to only around 50. I've got a full list right now so I only add things if someone says that I HAVE to read it and gives me a good reason why. (*cough* Demaris!) With that being said, I've got like 500 real books on that TBR and have no idea how I'll ever get through them all. Have you guys seen About Time with Rachel McAdams? I thought it was cute that the dad's favorite thing about being able to go back in time was to read every single book he's ever wanted to read... he never runs out of time!
That's my worry too! I keep hoping that I'll always have PTS and my pals here in the book club to supply me if I ever run out.

Editing to add --- I hope I don't get kicked out of the club for only having ~50 fics on my list!

BTW, Hello all, been AWOL for a bit, had spring break in Florida with the kids and back to work put me in the middle of a freaking avalanche of BS. How do you cut a dept of 17 down to 2 people in 4 yrs. UGH, my work load now quadrupled. Anyways, Hope all is well, Happy Belated Birthday to all that I missed, Congrats to any new Mommies out there and Welcome to all the new members.

I've got a little over 1 chapter left in Slippin, Trippin... and I think the greatness that is Yellowglue has convinced me to read Dusty. I never thought I would. Any other Dusty virgins out there want to read it with me sometime soon?

Here are a couple of links... it comes up in conversation here every once in a while. It's supposed to be crazy over the top angst and most will say it does not have a HEA ending.

I don't even know who or what Dusty is or what the big deal is.

It was a story written by two really good writers. Very angsty with a really questionable HEA ending. I have not read it and am not sure I will bother as my drug of choice requires an HEA. Especially if there is angst.

And? It may have been pulled to publish.

It was working fine yesterday but I had some issues last night. I haven't tried it today. I should have my computer back up and running by tomorrow. I recovered most of my stuff from the main drive though it's still running. After a week. This program is so slow. But then, it's all there with the file names in folders, fully usable. So I'm not complaining much.

I usually don't update many fics at once but Calibre works fine for me. I'm using a windows pc with Calibre version 1.33 with FFDL version 1.8.18.

Thanks. I'm using calibre 1.34 for Mac and FFDL 1.8.18. I haven't tried since yesterday so I'm hoping today it works.

I just finished reading Trippin, Slippin, Stumbletumblin by Yellowglue and if you haven't read it yet, please consider giving it a chance. It's one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read. If you are a fan of vampward, this is a MUST READ!
