Hey guys, I'm looking for something new to read. Any recommendations?
I really like stories where Bellas a dancer or Edwards a police officer (or something similar). I'm not a big fan of angst, I like when there's an acceptable amount of time for them to get together and then they have problems that effect their relationship. I also love smutty stuff like Insatiable Desires or The Office but that there's development outside of that. Now it doesn't necessarily have all or any of those things. Just if it sounds like something that sounds like it fits in what I like.

The only policeward I've read was Marital B itch by Jillian Landers. It was funny but sometimes I just wanted to slap both of them. Can't see what's in front of their faces. But I guess that was part of what made it funny. Also Edward's "southie accent was a bit annoying to me. Though I understand it is how south Boston Irish talk.

Yeah, no, I just looked it up; according to Wiki Milquetoast is an American English dysphemism for a weak, timid, or bland person.

As an American, I've always thought the word "milquetoast" was a Britishism (I think I made that word up).  Maybe it's the spelling.  I do know that it basically means a wimpy man or someone lacking a personality.

Exactly what happens when you put milk on toast or dunk toast on milk...probably the origin of this term?

If it's on fanfiction.net, you can download it as a pdf - just go flagfic.com. Some of the ladies here are gurus at using Calibre - it can also be used to download fics as pdfs.

Since I keep talking about the concerts I went to last week, I thought I'd post a picture.  My daughter went with me to see Matchbox Twenty and The Goo Goo Dolls on Tuesday and I "won" a trip to Las Vegas (really just hotel accommodations).  Then a friend went with me to see Train, The Script and Gavin DeGraw.  At one point, Gavin DeGraw came out into the audience and I got to hold hands with him briefly.  I texted my daughter and she was so mad that she opted out of the concert.  She'd gone with me to see Train a year ago and decided she didn't need to see them again so soon, plus she really needed to work instead.  So here is the pic of Gavin DeGraw taken by my friend.

LOL! I didn't say it worked reading more than one.  It usually starts with a story like LYLS.  It's good, but I can't read it straight thru.  So I start something else. But I go back and forth. And maybe pick up a third or fourth story. Until something grabs me or one of them actually gets interesting. 

Let me know if LYLS gets better. I keep putting off reading it. I find myself skimming the lemons after a while.  They get to repetitive after a while. 

I think I'm bowing out of the experiment. I can't seem to read two fics at the same time.

When I went back to read LYLS, it got better. I didn't realize how close I was to the end of the story (I had added the outtakes to the end of the doc, and there are a lot. I skipped those to start on Part 2). So Part 1 has so many lemons that I skimmed that I didn't think I could rec it, but you do need to read it in order to prepare yourself for Part 2 A Life Extraordinary. ALE is seriously owning me. I don't know if I can go back to Dick for Hire until it's done, which is irritating because it's really good, and I want to go back. Damn experiment! I'm being pulled by 2 fics. ugh!

Loved the humor in Dear Mr. Masen. It was so fun and light. Refreshing.

Ok i just read "Dear Mr. Masen"   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.  I think KimKimKim posted the rec.  Well I wanted to say  .  I loved this fic.  The banter back and forth in the emails was the best.

I read this as a WIP - I really liked it, though I thought she rushed the ending.  But that could be my faulty memory.  If I remember correctly, she posted fairly regularly up until the last couple chapters.

But I definitely rec it as a funny story... 

LOL! Now I'm feeling bad.  My ADD distractions shouldn't make you uncomfortable. And? This is how I read.  I would eventually get back to the one I stopped reading.  Um,  if I remember what it was.... 

Thanks for the info on LYLS.  I will skim it and then go to the next one.  Well, after I either get bored with or finish AmateurBoredom123's Enkindle My Soul.  It was found recently on the 152 thread so it's probably not in the Index yet.  I'm not sure I'd rec it though.  It is okay.  The usual - fall in love at the first instance but Bella was made an angel by an outcast angel, so she is a little different.

I'm a little over half through and it is okay.  Definitely canon Edward.  Hairpulling and all.

On another note, I really love my new Kindle DX after the first problems with it.  It doesn't really like Calibre, so loading stuff from Calibre on to it crashed it.  BUT! PDFs are great on it.  They are so readable, unlike my other Kindles.  So now I can actually read all those PDFs that I have been pushing aside because the print is too small.  EP just moved up my TBR list.  I'm still not sure if I want to read Mobward.  I'm not a big mob fan. 

I thought Enkindle My Soul by AmateurBoredom123 was okay too. I liked Bella in it, she was a little different than the usual. The end is better than the rest of it. I also liked that it was more canon than I have read of late.

It's probably stupid of me, but I can't wait for you to read EP and let us know what you think, esp since you don't like mobward. I loved that fic! It was tough, but a great story. I haven't gotten around to reading Sempre yet, but I'm curious to see if there is much difference and whether she incorporated any of the outtakes into the story. The EP outtakes reminded me of the way Tolkien had extra books aside from the main story--there was a lot to sift through.
