  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #7 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I'm reading A Matter of Trust by quietruby with actor Edward, but you've probably already read that one 100 times.
Just finished this one. Had to put it down a few times so I wouldn't b*tch slap it. Ugh. Bella annoyed the cr*p out of me. And then when she finally gets some balls it just ends. No future-shot or anything. Just kind of hanging.

I did love Actorward though. Very sweet and a little naive. And who could resist a Britishward. Really based on RPattz I'm sure.

So I read a quick OS  by BoydBlog called Billionaire. Loosely based on The Bachelor TV show. It was good and made me like Bella again. Very quick read.

Cricket World Cup Final day and the Aussies are doing well! NZ all out for 183 and we're 2/98 after 20.1 overs. Oh how I love the cricket. It's been the best year so far, cricket all summer and now that's all over it's okay, because next week is Round 1 of the AFL premiership season and my boys are playing in Melbourne! One sport ends and the next one begins.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that my father died last night in the nursing home - massive heart attack.   My mother called me this morning and was going through a guilt trip - she said he'd fallen in the bathroom and suffered a head injury and "if he'd been home this wouldn't have happened."  Number 1 - he ended up in the hospital and eventually the nursing home in the first place because he'd fallen in the bathroom because he was so unsteady on his feet.  I talked to my aunt after talking to mom and Merlene said he'd actually had a massive heart attack and was dead before he hit the floor.   He would have died no matter whether he was in the nursing home or at home - better the nursing home where they were better equipped to deal with it than at home where my mother would have panicked and gone to pieces and had to call 911 again.  According to my aunt, my mother has since backed off from her original statement and is somewhat more rational.   As to Twilighted - it evidently still has problems.  I e-mailed April (Content1) for more information.  After all the Russian Spammers I've heard about the last two weeks (this thread last week - or beginning of this week - at this point I can't even begin to tell you and Maine.gov got hit by the Russians this week for 3 days running - mainly they just flooded the site with traffic and shut it down to legitimate users - and they were so proud of themselves too - evidently the IT people finally won and got rid of them.)  When I hear from April regarding the site, I'll let you know.  I do know the Twilighted Legal Counsel was on the board today - how she managed to not get kicked off I will never know.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Hello everyone! Well I was recently reading a lot of tearjerker angst filled stories and after reading A Voice in the Darkness by katinki I was left really wanting a happy ending and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of stories where the main character gets kidnapped/abducted for a long time but eventually are found or escape? A Voice in the Darkness is the first abduction/kidnap story I've ever read in the Twilight fanfiction world so I really don't know where to start. As long as it's well written and has a happy ending (I need a break from all the angst and sad endings I've been reading lately) and preferably complete then I'll be one happy reader. The characters don't really matter to me as long as the story line is good.
I wasn't really sure if there was a different place to ask for things like this so my apologies if I'm in the wrong place for this. I'd be really thankful for any help in discovering a great new read  :)

  • Life is all about balance.
Just finished reading: Crash Into Me By eibbil. It wasn't pretty good. SpaG were good, or at least I didn't notice anything glaring. It grabbed me at the beginning and I have spent all day reading it. I got nothing else done except paint my nails.

Charreader - have you tried logging back onto Twilighted?  I managed it last night and I'm listed as a registered member this time instead of hidden.  I don't know how I did it but I did. I can't go anywhere on the forums but I'm there.  raissig just made it back on about half an hour ago.   The fic totals on the fic categories are still messed up although I think something left AU-Human because the total is down by one more (and it was already off to begin with) - it isn't Caged by Savage because I checked and that's still listed as on.

Haven't tried today, but from what you're saying it doesn't sound as if they've straightened everything out yet.

I'll let you know if I get in.

I just started reading this one too because I saw it recommended on an old post way back in part 2 of this thread  ;)

Charreader - yeah - same here - so some progress at least small as it is.  At least its showing you online but not logged in - same as everybody else.   Birthdays are evidently working.  Someone I sent a pm to last week was on Sunday (still on Sunday depending on where you live) under birthdays.  So those are changing.

That was weird!
I restarted my router and everything is back to normal  :unamused:

Edit: It seems that the standalone FFDL doesn't work with twilighted anymore, the calibre plugin works just fine.

Really liked this one. Yeah, for a 31 yr old, B was a bit annoying. E was adorable. An overall good read for me. Thanks for the rec FFG!

Hi! Thanks for the response :)  Yes I have read that one already, but I was hoping for a story where the main character had not met or  was  not together with the person they end up with prior to being kidnapped/abducted? Our Yellow House is great but not quiet able to satisfy the reading itch I've got going right now lol
