Thread #7 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Mr. A will look into it.  Others have reported similar issues, but it may vary according to the browser you're using or your adblock or some other variable.  In any event, Mr. A can't fix it if he doesn't know about it.

Thanks FFG, it seems the case that PTS now won't load if you're using an adbloc. I tried to visit using Firefox and it just wouldn't load then when I used Safari it was fine until all the Ocado ads nearly made me mental so I downloaded adbloc and then PTS stopped loading.....

Anyway...'hey gang'

Demaris!  Good to have you back.  I knew folks were having trouble if they were using adbloc.  If you block the ads, then the site doesn't make any money and not enough people donate for the site to survive only on donations, so we have to have ad revenue.

i can't keep up with this tread anymore. just started a new job, so when i get home im dead tired.
 :( :(

Congrats on the new job!

I am applying for work now, after not working for a good while and am tired just from that, trying to remember the names of my supervisors from long ago that most likely aren't still working there so you wouldn't be able to contact them anyway.  I'm not in a rush to start working again, but if we don't have a 3rd then maybe its time.

Most of the ads I don't mind, just the ones that start talking when the page is loaded, those ones (rare occurrence for me) make it so I can't stay on the page.  The ads actually helped me make a decision when I couldn't decide between two hotels once, I just went with the one that showed up here the next time.

Yeah. I get that, but mothersuck it's annoying.... :(

Good to be back FFG. Oh, and Loopy I see I have a new addition to my Fassy collection thanks Hon!
Funny, that's the exact expression he has on his face whenever I ask whether he want me on top or on my back.....  >:D

I hate the ones that talk to you, so distracting, they startle me when it happens unexpectedly, and they slow my browser way down.

Sometimes they are delayed from when I open a webpage, so when they start talking to me, I end up randomly closing tabs until its stops, but then I can't remember what tabs I have open (right now I have 16 open)

This is strange because I don't have ad bloc on my phone. But I was still having problems. Though the pictures are back!  Yay!

Ruth, I don't know whether to feel embarrassed for that woman or envious. Asking a stranger whether you have something on your face only to realize he is The Pretty.   Though frankly, he sounds like a nice guy. Most people would have walked passed like they didn't hear.

From all reports he is a nice guy.   He's probably used to being stopped for pictures or autographs.  This is probably the first time anyone has stopped him to ask if they have ice cream on their face which probably made him wonder if she was serious.

  • Life is all about balance.
If I get talking ads on here, I just refresh my page until I get an ad that doesn't talk. The ads don't bother me, and I try to click on them once in a while.

Loopy,

You've been quiet the last couple of days - has your daughter's baby arrived?  Was she able to finish her tests first?

I hope everything went well and everyone is happy and healthy.
Been hectic the last few days hun,  but still no baby yet.
My daughter is now 3 days over due and her first false alarm yesterday, she was getting contractions 5 minutes apart for about 8 hours and then they stopped and as she's only 2cm dilated they sent her home last night.
She's been having twinges since, which she tried to use as an excuse today to get out of going to go to school for an exam, so she's pissed off with for making her go.
If still no more progress by Monday (she'll be 41 wks then) she'll have to have a sweep, which she is dreading.
I keep telling her that this is pay back as she was a PITA when I was due to have her - she was 2 weeks late, had a sweep which amounted to nothing and then was induced at 42 wks and it still took 2 days for her to arrive.

Good to see you back hun, I totally forgot I added that one to your collection as I did a few days before we had that down time.

Lol, well that's a tough decision for anyone to make.  :P ;) :D

Just back from watching the 2nd semi-final of Eurovision, it was a fun party (we were standing in the middle section towards the back if anyone watched and could pick us out since we did not dress up).

Saw a cute guy (tried to take a picture, but couldn't do so inconspiciously), definitely gay, but pointed him out to my husband as we were all waiting for the street car together, and my husband's comment was "Oh you mean the sparkling vampire looking one, the one with Cullen hair? That one?"  I guess he did kinda look like he could fit in the movies.

Anyone experiencing difficulties getting email notification of updates from pts sites?
My last update was yesterday.....why me.

Thank you for the recs. for my friend.
Right now I'm rereading the fic by awesomesauce since she's gonna p2p....honestly, it's sporadic.....not holding my interest. I wish the fics that most of us have on hold would update.

Loopy, I hope the gbaby gets here soon.

Me neither - I thought it was just me because I cleaned out my history and unnecessary temporary files yesterday and maybe accidently got rid of the e-mail notification.   Except - I did get an e-mail notification this afternoon from InDeath.net so I know now that what I did yesterday isn't responsible.  I also noticed on the main index at the top of the page in the conversation there that whoever wasn't having a problem was using internet explorer which I do have.   I've only had one problem with the Page Cannot Be Displayed message since I originally complained about it and ffg gave me the link to report to Mr. Admin. (which I haven't bothered with since its not what I currently consider a problem - at least for now).

Since the site issues a few weeks ago, all my notifications had been going straight to my Junk folder and I had to look for them (and move them from) there.  Hopefully, when we all start getting notifications again, mine will start going to my Inbox again.

All I do after I look at it and see who posted, I delete and come here.   In a way, its saving me one step (deleting) but on the whole I'd rather get the e-mail.
