I use Dream Voice on IPAD. I use the Brian voice, but Tyler the Aussie sounds really HOT.Wow Booked!!!
Heads to google scratching head.
Soooo... I'm assuming on IPADS you can choose a voice?? That's cool!!! I'm not an audio book fan, but I think if I had more say in who was doing the reading I'd like it more.RD.. please share what the mighty Google says! [emoji6]
It is a 5 star app however be prepared to spend $10 for it. It comes with a girls voice (Heather) and you can buy more. I watched some YouTube videos on it performing, and it's not something I think I would like. It works like my old kindle and just transfers text to speech, so there is no passion, feeling or emotions while reading the words for you. All monotone. I think for now, I will continue reading it myself. I am an animated and expressive talker, my reading is no different. I might even re-read a sentence or two here and there to ensure I have the proper meaning, or back up and re-read a delicious lemon.
The lite version is unusable. It stops after 200 words and you have to restart it. I tried a couple of the voices. The British voice was better than the American one. But frankly, Siri was less annoying. I have loved the read to me function of my Kindle, but frankly, I use it for school books. Somehow they are easier to deal with when I listen to them. I fall asleep reading them myself. Listening to real stories, however, loses something with a mechanical voice.
I will say on this that one does not need any further space to accommodate a PA, in fact if you ladies ever do persuade your other half to venture down this road start doing your Kegel exercises as he heals. The tighter the drum, the better the beat...[emoji48]
I just finished Darkness by cherry.blossomz. I was disappointed. The plot was practically non-existent. There was insta-love and insta-sex, despite Bella's virgin status at the beginning. The characters were cardboard cutouts. The so-called drama was not dramatic or angsty. Probably because the fights were over such stupid stuff that it was difficult to care. Even the rival for Bella's love was not really a rival. The upside? The basic writing improved over the arc of the story. It started out really stiff, but then started to flow. But that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't much of a story. And it's been published! I hope she injected a plot into the published version.I haven't totally written this author off because of the improvement in the writing style. This is not one of the stories she's really known for, so there will be a second chance given. But this one? The copy I have is 344 pages long. I spent a lot of those pages wishing I could flounce.
Sometimes bad habits pay off. Today I am very glad that I have a habit of skimming reviews before I read a Fic. I was interested in reading a story, but as many of us here now do was waiting for it to be completed, when I saw it marked complete I read the first chapter and then looked at the reviews only to see people congratulating the author about publishing so I checked out the last chapter.....it was an AN saying she was publishing the story and wouldn't be completing the Fic. So glad I didn't waste my time reading more (I didn't think the chapter I read was good enough to publish, but maybe it got better).
Also you pay 4 dollars for different voices. and they also have several languages.Definitely not like a proper audio book. but i ended up "reading" a lot more like this. even when im working out.i got used to it. even tho my family hates the sound of it. if you are not paying attention it can be annoying.but i also listen in the car, and before i go to sleep.Last year was a bad year and since i basically gave up on fanfic i ended up escaping real life by reading a lot. And because of voice dream i ended up reading 227 books. i would listen to it everywhere.
I know I've read this as my Calibre has it marked as 'read' but for the life of me I can't remember what it's about, which is never a good sign....
Story and author name? So we don't go there...
I Was Never Yours by My Secret
Never heard of it?
Her published name is Maria Delaurentis. I think she's one of those authors who uses fanfic to get some feedback on her plot bunnies before she pulls to publish.
