Her published name is Maria Delaurentis. I think she's one of those authors who uses fanfic to get some feedback on her plot bunnies before she pulls to publish.
I don't like this practice. Join a writing group, or ask your friends, don't make your story Twific (or whatever fandom) just to get the free editing and ideas.
I don't plan on reading it.
that is my secret and as far as I know she hasnt pulled any of her fics they are still there she published on the run but didnt pull it You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Yes, but she posted this as her last chapter: "My sweet and ready-to-kill-me readers.I'm so sorry about the lack of update here...The reason I haven't put up the next chapter is- this story was picked for publishing!(Probably not what you wanted to hear)I'm so excited about the response I've had to this story and all of the feedback. you guys are great!Until I have a thumbs up from my publisher that it's okay to keep posting chapters.. the story stops here. The first book ends here and is going to go live in the next few weeks. The story is being turned into a three book mini series (:Thank you SO much for reading this far ANDIf anyone is interested in being the beta for the rest of the story LET ME KNOW!"So, yeah, it will probably be pulled unfinished. It has only 19K words, so it is a novella sized story. And they are going to turn it into a trilogy. Another pet peeve. "I'll give you the first 55 page book free, but it ends on a cliff-hanger and you have to pay $3.99 each for the next 3 short parts to this story.....My husband loves Scifi books and he has been complaining about this. $.99 per book, but they are little more than a long chapter in length and by the time you buy all 20 of them, you could have bought a hardback book buy a actually good author. I should stop complaining about this. But lately even the published authors are getting bad. The books cost more, and yet they are shorter than ever. I have an old Tom Clancy story that is over 1,000 pages. I'm lucky if the books hit 300 or even 250 now. (yes MaryJanice Davidson and Janet Evanovich I'm talking about you!) I guess I feel cheated out of a good story. Intro and Boom! it is over! Okay *steps off soapbox* Thanks for listening. Of course, if you want to read the end of My Secret's story, you can volunteer to beta it for FREE!I think my husband is right I am very grumpy today.
Oh no I get your rant. I see authors angry that their books are being pirated but come one they charge way to much. They way I see it and ebook is just the same as paper back but what it comes down to is money. They dont make more from an ebook than a paperback. They figure they have loyal readers why not charge more they will pay for it.Now jaxon22 is doing the same thing and lying saying things beyond her control bullshit they only make you pull the fic not your author profile. She is gearing up to publish either dancing in the dark or her other fics.

I don't have a problem with using fanfic to practice your writing and don't even mind those who pull to publish. What I have a BIG problem with is the pulling an incomplete story and expecting all those readers to pay if they want to read the ending. You pay for the help by providing a complete story to those who helped with their reviews. A little notice before you pull is nice too.
I am standing on that soapbox with you on this Ella. I don't get where this tread came from? To split 600 pages into 3 and call it a trilogy! Books, when they were printed primarily on paper, used to be 500-600 pages each as standard, and a long book was 1000. I kinda mind because if its true then it's a very cynical and exploitative method of working. Most of the readers of fanfics do so with a passion; they're passionate about the original story, the characters and the Fandom they participate in, for someone who isn't interested in any of that to come along and ingrain themselves with these readers, have them read and review and get involved in a story just for the author's own singular purpose is just plain....selfish and...nasty! Especially if these readers then never see the end result of their involvement/encouragement in the form of a free completed FF story. I refuse to read P2P that haven't complete on FF first, that get yanked 2 chapters before completion in an arsehole move to get readers to pay to see how it ends...I say 'f*ck you and the publisher horse you rode out on'...
I think some of these writers don't realize the only reason we read the stories is because they have Bella and Edward. I don't want to read about Chris and Ana. I love a guy named Edward with crazy bronze colored sex hair and green, topaz, black, or sometimes red eyes. And you have to change a lot of that or deal with copyright issues. So it's not the same. And I don't read them. [emoji14]

God Ella, you're an eternal sweetheart I love ya! Of. Course. They. Realise! That why they use a fandom, they realise how invested the readers are in these characters so they will always respond (negatively or positively), encourage, suggest and participate (its like a free focus group). I'm honestly all for P2P, if its done correctly, FSOG wasn't, (Chris and Ana are Edward and Bella; they share 99% of their characteristics) that was a straight up mugging IMO but I'd have been happy to buy it because she wasn't an arsehole about it, she completed it on FFN and then pulled with enough notice etc...(what's happened since then has really little to do with P2P and more to do with Icy ) I don't care if they change the hair or eyes etc I loved Dusty, Edward's eyes were blue, Bella's hair was strawberry blond. Once its pulled, in fact I prefer if they change their appearance, I'm reading it outside the Fandom so it fine. All I'm saying is I would just really appreciate it if FF authors (real or fake) had some respect for the readers that they're meant to be writing for and not treat them like chumps when its time to cash in on their participation; forewarn them..."hey folks I'm dusting off my plot bunny here to see if its any good before publishing, all suggestions welcomed." Everyone would know where they stood then; the reason they don't is because they're sneaks. Oh God. Look at me ranting, OK I'll stop now....
LOL! Thanks. I was just saying that when they pull to publish, they have to change the eye color and hair color as well as the names. At that point, I am no longer interested in the story. I can't read half of EdwardsEternal'so stories because Bella has blue eyes and so does Edward half the time. Then there is a football story by mybella that has Edward with black hair, black eyes and tanned skin. Bella is also black haired, black eyed and tanned. Totally Jake and Leah. I can't read it. At all. Don't mess with my Edward and Bella! !!! I tried to read FSOG. Couldn't do it. But I agree with you. If you aren't a Twifan and are just looking to write in the demographic of twifics, you should let readers know. I don't think Jaxon22 is one of those as she wrote for a long time without pulling to publish.
