Well, that sounds like a good idea.  I'll have to try that under carefully controlled circumstances.  And not when my boys can catch me doing it.

I think my daughter stopped buying CDs as soon as we bought her first ipod, although she'll sometimes ask for CDs so that we have something to get her for Christmas and her birthday.  She also doesn't hesitate to copy my CDs onto her ipod and computer.  When she went off to college, she didn't need a TV or any music playing apparatus.  As long as she has her laptop, she has her entertainment center and her phone and ipod allow her to be entertained on the go.  I got her a student prime account on amazon, she's got itunes gift cards and she's good to go.  Ah, to be a student again!

It is 3 AM.  I'm up late because I'm trying to catch up on all the contract drafting I'm supposed to get done this week.  Funerals and sick children have put me behind schedule.  I should just go to bed, because I'm not really being very productive.

Yeah, life now is so much easier with gadgets. students just don't know how lucky they are. wait until they enter the world of unemployment, paying bills and starting a family...

Sorry to hear someone you know died. is it a relative? my condolences all the same.

Thanks.  It was actually the mother of a woman I consider a surrogate sister.  My children consider her daughter their adopted cousin.  I went to support her and her daughter.  Unfortunately, it meant a 3 hour drive each way, plus the time I spent with her.  I don't begrudge the time at all.  But, since I'm self-employed, if I don't work I don't get paid, plus I have to keep my clients happy.  So, I work after the rest of the family goes to bed.  Luckily, I'm a bit of a night owl anyway.

And thanks for fixing my mess on the 152 thread - I don't know what happened! I must have tried at least 10 times to delete the file but it just wouldn't disappear!

I think I don't like when Astro hits her download limit.  There's nothing to read when I get up in the morning LOL! ???

Awww...you missed me! Thanks

I have been dropping in to read and keep up to date, but it just took far too long to try to post anything.

But you should see how clean my house is!  ;)

Sorry to miss your imprisonment - you'd been bailed out by the time I got home tonight! Damn time zones!

We need to come up with a plan to bust fellow Twific'ers out of the slammer! Any ideas?

I was amazed.

"Holy Shitballs!"  :D :D :D

I love The Boob! Even when he flies to Australia and performs on live TV as drunk as a skunk!

He was a guest performer this year at our TV awards show - The Logies. He must have consumed his weight in free booze before it was his turn to take the stage.

Classic performance!

Ella's free so I'm going to talk about something totally off topic.  I'm trying to open a new CD, it even has one of those easy open strips along the side (a rare amenity on CDs), and I still can't get the friggin' thing open.  I can't find the alleged loose end of the strip.  WHY OH WHY do they have to make the damned things so hard to open?  I think avoiding having to open CDs and DVDs is the primary impetus for people to buy music and movies on itunes instead of actual packaged discs.  Well, that and the instant gratification benefit.

Update: I managed to get the plastic off, though I still have to deal with the sticky tape across the top, but just realized that my daughter has already copied this CD onto my ipod.  She had the good sense to buy it from itunes.

I believe this is one of the reasons we have teeth!

Packaging is a real pet hate of mine - my mum bought a new toothbrush. We tried everything we could think of to open the plastic shell that it came in, and finally ended up having to saw it with a serrated knife!

Then, as she was pulling it through the plastic, Mum sliced her finger on the packaging so badly that she probably needed stitches (she's of that era where you don't go to the doctor unless you're on death's door so we made do with my awesome bandaging skills)!

On a related topic, I have a paper cut on my thumb. It hurts like a bitch!

I should have taken the rest of the day off but I soldiered on.  ;)

ETD: I must have an infection and be hallucinating!

I swear Jessica Stanley is on my TV, baking bread, playing a plastic cup and singing a song about how I'm gonna miss her when she's gone!

So, when I bought You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for my school back in 2006, was I just being amazingly insightful in predicting the next trend?  :D

Yeah,  I couldn't resist.  So, yeah, we miss you when you hit your DL limit.  You get everyone else talking.

Oh and I hate CD/DVD cover things. I've been known to use box cutters when my husband isn't around. For some reason, he doesn't like seeing me around sharp objects.  I don't understand why.  It's not like we don't own lots of bandaids.....

Okay, what else did I miss? :D :D :D

Sorry i cant bail anyone out. I don't have PayPal ( well, I do, but it doesn't work. Have no idea what I did wrong. And now I can't use it, it got blocked). Also, I'm unemployed, so I use my dads credit card. No way I can justify that expense. He hates the amount of time I spend here and on ff. lol.

What you missed : SAF got nominated the best dressed actress!
Lol it is the end of the world. I didn't know there was an award for the best hobo look

WHAAAAA? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Who selected her as best dressed?  Crazy homeless people?  Guys who like the see-through look?

What is this world coming to,

I realize that many who come here cannot contribute.  And that we all have bad months too.  So if worse came to worst, I would have bailed myself out.  I'm thinking of putting some money towards Mr. Admin's bail, but I may wait to see if any other Twific people end up in jail first.

And? Everyone can help by clicking on the ad links every once in a while.  I actually do it more than I should, only because some of them look pretty interesting.  :D :D :D

Though the one for getting bail money in Las Vegas? yeah, didn't need that.  :-\

I usually buy my music from Amazon becuase I still want the CD with the lyrics and liner notes.  And about a month ago Amazon started including auto-rip with mostof their CDs.  What this means is that I buy the physical CD online and within seconds of completeing my purchase Amazon has ripped it to my Cloud.  Then I download it to my device (my iPad).  So, I get to listen while the CD is in the mail and I don't even have to rip it to itunes when it gets here.  :)

I still buy CDs. I love having the cases. But I'm to lazy to upload them all to my comp, so I end downloading it from some pirate site. It's a lot harder now to find free music to dl.
