It's funny how a hard drive crash - in my case it was a crash with the ground - makes you start to collect hard drives and fill them with duplicate stuff.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I may have 10 or 12 now.  Though the small notebook ones? Yeah, those are really great and small.

I'm starting to really love cloud storage myself. I use dropbox for real books (and some fic for some reason) and Google Drive for fic. I'm covered so long as those don't go down, but I'm thinking of backing all those up to another cloud storage, just in case. I somehow ended up with like, 22 gb free space on one called Copy, might as well use it!

 I need to back up my stuff pronto. Yesterday I had a scare, my laptop was frozen on the star up page, that has never happened to me and it scared the crap out of me because my guarantee expired may 9th, yeah that's my good luck.

I read the Art teacher as WIP, is good but I thought it was too angst -y for me.

Mine had a crash with my tiled floor - but then worked fine for 35 minutes of a 42 minute show.

Then it froze on my tv.

Then my computer wouldn't recognise it. Then my work computer (I was THAT desperate I actually pulled out the work laptop on a Saturday!) wouldn't recognise it!

According to hours of research on google, "portable hard drives" are not really made to be portable.

I think most Americanisms are probably known because of how much US TV we get.

It's mostly the brand names that confuse me - like, I just re-read this:

I loved this story.  I read it back before she removed all her stories.   

And then started posting again.

She had some great stories.  Though I still haven't read Closer.  :-[

So that's an old story? I haven't read much from her just true love way and the other one where Bella lives on Las Vegas.

I'm scared to read her stories.... I don't know why.

Now that she explained, it is perfectly understandable.  I had a friend whose husband did that to her.  She was all messed up because she felt she couldn't be angry at him for falling out of love with her. 

Of course a year later when he told her he actually had fallen in love with someone else who turned out not to be interested in him, she got really p*ssed off.  Sigh. Stupid men.   :021:

It really messed with her until that happened.

Cloud worries me.  I don't know that I trust the companies.  Also they could easily disappear with your stuff.  I would never ever put personal stuff out there.

But really? What stops me? iTunes is currently at 198 GB.  Yeah.  And 27.1 GB in my one fanfiction folder. Though there are duplicates.  And multiple formats.

So cloud storage is not so good.

Lauren now will have to read Caravaggio. I was telling her how people on ADF were disappointed with the ending. She started defending the author. Lol
Lauren now is officially an author and not a reader anymore.

So I'm giving you homework.  We need to know if they were being unfair or not

I'm paranoid so I don't trust cloud either or anything like that, but I do have a box account, but I would never, ever upload something personal.

It's free and I have some of my ff stories in there, I have this problem that makes me think I will lose all my pdf's and mobi's. And I can probably find them, but I won't find them in mobi format, and there are some websites that convert files and I've tried some to convert some pdf's I don't have in mobi but I don't like the format, I can't read anything if I don't like the format.

I'm weird.  :D

Sometimes you just have to reload your operating system and it doesn't mess with the data.  I have things like this happen a lot.  It usually happens when something you download, or more likely, some program update, is not compatible with another program.

And it is really easy to change out a hard drive. They have videos on YouTube showing it.  ;D

Poor woman. That review wasn't that bad. A few days ago someone posted their negative book review from Goodreads (sorry, don't remember who it was or the book), and I thought, "don't hold back now." This Carvaggio comment is nothing to what it could have been. Meimei42's explanation must be true, and she must be a mess right now. I feel for her. (But she also needs thicker skin).

Sometimes I feel like I should be 93 - all this newfangled technology!

I am just getting my head around Google Drive. Everytime I use it, I spend the first minute in awe that 2 people on opposite sides of the earth are looking at the same thing at the same time!

Cloud scares me a little too, but I think it might be because of my control freak tendencies - if I drop my hard drive, then it's my fault, but if Cloud crashes, it's way beyond my control and my rage would consume me!

I'm going now - I have to clean my kitchen so that I can make a new mess. I'm trialling a new coconut cupcake recipe as well as a new choc frosting recipe, and I am making vege soup for my lunch this week.

I don't want it to be Sunday afternoon yet! :'(

Yeah, hard drives don't really like being moved.  But they are much more portable now than they used to be.  :P

Yeah, I get a little worried.  Even the funny one was a little strange. 

Closer starts out with Edward with Tanya and Bella with Jacob but in the first chapter Tanya and Jacob run to the store to get more beer for a party they are all having & have a fatal accident.  I haven't read past that for some reason.

Summary: 'What do you do when you lose the love of your life? When the only person who can fix you is the one who can longer do it...Scream.' A story about finding love despite the consequences. When being wrecked and damaged doesn't matter... B E AH/OOC lemons

A lot of people loved it but it is angsty.  You can find it on the Index.
