You all watching the Golden Globes? Since I don't have pay TV I don't think I'll get to watch it at all. Oh well, the only one of those kinds of show I can sit all the way through is the ARIAS anyway. I'm watching the tennis live, much more my kinda scene.

And since the tennis is on, it's the one time of year that I pretty much have the TV on all day (Yay for Uni Holidays!) and I don't read anything. My fic funk has been keeping on...that and I've been stuck on a few WIPs that are driving me nuts...evil WIPs!

As for the other question asked. I'm a dog person, I have two of them (to go along with the 11 horses), a Tenterfield Terror Terrier, Scout and a Standard Labradoodle, Nero. I love my babies, even though Nero is 11 now. I'm of the opinion that cats are very cunning and slightly evil, when I house sit for a couple who have cats they only ever seem to really bother me when they want something.

As I'm spending the day baking my brother a Birthday Cake (It's scary to think he is a teenager now!) and making the pizza bases for his birthday dinner (because even though he is 13 he is still the fussiest eater you will ever come across) I have to keep an eye on the terror, because she doesn't ask for food, she just takes it! Once we caught her on the kitchen table eating a chocolate cake someone had left out! Naughty girl.

Ugh! I can't stand the tennis - it's worse than the cricket and Bernard Tomic needs a good hard kick in his tennis balls! Spoilt brat!

Both of my dogs were adopted and came pre-named. My lab was Jedda (she was a chocolate lab - yeah, not very politically correct  ) and my Chihuahua was Astro, and 2009 was the year he said goodbye.

So I guess that makes me Astro Junior.

Most amazing pizza base recipe - sooooo easy and it works!

Ingredients
1 cup self-raising flour
½ cup yoghurt

Method
1. Combine flour and yoghurt and roll out to desired size.
2. Add toppings of choice.

Watching all this Golden Globes stuff, Anne Hathaway is making me rethink growing out my hair, I just love her cut.

I know this sounds really parochial, but I thought people only spoke like that in movies and tv!

We have friends from Alabama, Texas and Michigan and the accents are all so different.

Our Australian accent varies from place to place, but only slightly. It's hardly obvious at all. It's more the speed at which we talk and the words we use that give away where a person might be from, and only if you have a really good ear.

Haha! I have to butt in here as a Linguist, I was thinking of doing my thesis topic on this! There is an increasing difference in the Aussie accent according to Geography, most noticeably between Victorians and other states (Although there is more and more difference between NSW & Qld too). The most obvious thing is Victorians, and in particular Melbournian's pronounce their e's as a's, so a name such as Ellen comes out exactly the same as Allan.

There is a lot I love about Aussie English (hence why I study it!), one of my favourites is the tendency for us to shorten the double ee as i, so we say bin instead of been. We are a lazy lot when it comes to our language...

But the difference in the lexicon is still the easiest way to tell where someone grew up.

I LOVE the tennis. I hate the cricket, except for the 20/20 Big Bash stuff, that's fun. Tomic is a cocky little bastard. I'm not a huge fan. Ever since the Rally For Relief I've had a soft spot for Djokovic, he's a funny guy and has a great sense of humour.

I'm dreading Nero leaving...he's been a tad ill lately. I've told him he's not allowed to die, just like my grandma. I've forbidden it.
