If its true then its ALL good, but we've already had one Tory peer falsely accused...It's a bit of a hotbed topic right now. Anyhoooo, this time I'm really off! Nite, nite!

Our Prime Minister recently announced a Royal Commision into child abuse by the church. It will take years and will barely scratch the surface. It won't even look into abuse of children in the care of the state (foster kids).

Any form of ill-treatment of a child sickens me. As a teacher in Queensland, we have mandatory reporting. We MUST report any incident of a child being in harm or risk of harm. Unfortunately it takes months so etimes before these are even investigated, during which time we still have to deal with parents, because we just report, we don't judge or investigate.

But as much as abuse sickens me, it also saddens me that in this day and age, we can't even hug a child if they are hurting. It's even worse for male teachers.

That sucks :( Besides safety sometimes all these kids want are hugs.

Geez ladies. It's been 8 hrs since I last checked in, and I had 136 emails. I had to disable the notifications, especially when there is no way to forget coming here. It is like home.

There Will Be Blood and There Will Be Freedom, I read both as wips. They are not the worst I have read, but definitely not the best. The areas needed improving were the lemons and the writing. I know they were both beta'd, but it needed a second. Is it sad the male author is the same age as my oldest son? A senior in college. *shakes head*

I started this and I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. It's not really that good imo.

Bummer! It's not very good then??

Seriously  >:(

Pinned but Fluttering... I'm 15 chapters in and there have been 2 that had the Cullens.  :wtf:
This flipping story is 60 chapters long. Efff

There were only 2 chapters in all of that that had the Cullens in it? Who the hell is in this fic then?

I'll wait to give it a shot until after you give your final word.

I had the same reaction to Finding My Thunder...everyone raved about that fic....I managed to finish it (mostly because I kept thinking something big is going to happen for everyone to be so in love with this....nothing did) but could not understand wtf was so great about it.

Matron~

I finally found a Jasper fic that has sucked me in, wanted to lyk in case you haven't read this one:

Full Circle by circe290

Set five years after Edward left, Bella and Jasper have formed a tentative friendship, and she finds herself coming full circle, immersed in the Cullen family once again, but under very different circumstances.

There's also a sequel, The Sword and the Shield

Mobward - the original (probably not but IMO) and best is EP. And I nearly wet myself when I saw that Coke Zero is available in Cherry Coke here in Australia for a limited time. When I get home, I'm going to bulk buy, Y2K/hoarder/Armageddon style! I first had Cherry Come in the US when I was 16 and it has never become popular here.

I hardly ever drink soft drinks but I'll make an exception, while stocks last!
When it's not available anymore, a pretty good dupe is some cherry syrup (non-alcoholic, so no Kirsch for drunky Astro) and then whatever Coke you want. You can buy cherry syrup for pretty cheap on Amazon and it lasts ages.

One of the WIPs I'm reading is, in my eyes, basically finished. An epilogue or two and it'd be perfect. However, the author has now warned us there's going to be angst coming up so no doubt there's at least another 10 or so chapters. I hate when authors drag a story on and on!

What WIP are you reading?

I don't think we can even get cherry syrup here. I've never seen it, but I'll certainly look on Amazon.

I didn't know you could by food items on amazon.

Hmmm. A vibrator and cherry syrup. What will my postman think??? ;)

:D Don't be suprised if ol' postie asks you out sometime soon after seeing those..
A Prescription for Love by Tufano. Not bad but not great, at this point I'm just reading because I want to see it finished! Amazon has loads of food items and is how I feed my peanut butter M&M addiction. My Dad also sent me 300 or so teabags from there last year as a 'present'. English life ;)

And that's how my Nanna made it for me on 'special occasions' when I was little! Seeing it in EP was a cute nostalgia trip.

OH MY GOODNESS! PTS is so educational. You ladies have changed my life!

I only thought Amazon was only for buying books and CDs.

Last week I learnt you can buy happy fun-time toys there and now I learn you can buy cherry syrup and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups!!

I might never leave my bedroom again!!!

 :57:

I just had a mental image of me and a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup, American Pie style. I didn't mean it like that!

I promise.  ;)

But the Big O (the happy fun-time one, not Oprah) does burn a lot of calories, right?

I feel the same way about APFL - there is deffo better fics out there but now I've started it, I want to see how it finishes.  :)
Oh hun - I think you are my new BFF - I LOVE peanut butter M&Ms as I have a major peanut addiction  :o  and with each of my pregnancies my addiction gets worse, this one is no different - I have to PB with EVERYTHING.
I even have bags of M&Ms on the bedside cabinet - my hubby's so used to it, he doesn't even bother waking properly in the night if he hears me moaning while eating them.  :D

Same here!

She also has another Bella/Jasper fic, Serendipity. I haven't read that one yet, so I'm not sure if it's AH or vamp

and speaking of M&M's....Target had white chocolate/peppermint ones this christmas and I've never been more addicted to a candy as I was with those. I haven't been back since before Xmas so I don't know if they still have them out (doubting it since it's a Christmas thing....which makes me  :( )

Oh, dear...I might have to flounce TWBB. It's really cringingly badly written and cheesy as all hell; the characterization is all over the place and though I will give this young man props for putting his story out there, I can't believe he's in college; surely still being in school it should be easier to remember rules of grammar?  :-\  I'm going to make a cup of tea and then I'll see..
