Damn....I thought it was complete . I won't be able to read it until/if she completes it....my friend was reading as she posted and she would always comment about the heartfail.

Total heartfail! I PM'ed her a few months ago to ask if she planned on finishing it. No response. She was soooo close to the end (1-3 chapters left). :(
'Thanks' are always appreciated! ;)

Have you read All Cried Out by Hannah81?

And I heard Hydraulic Level 5 is major angst but I've not read that one yet.

I'll be back once I think of some more, I <3 the heartfail (though I won't read until it's complete for the same reasons as you )

I've read HL5, which is weird cause I normally don't read angst until it's done. Stuff from Mamasutra is awesome but I've read it all :(

For angst you could try one of AngstGoddess003's stories - Withering the Ferns or Wide Awake.  They're complete and still posted on ffn.
Please search before requesting or posting.  Check the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for uploaded Twilight fanfiction.

Surprisingly (I don't know the why or the when), the edited version of WA is no longer on FFn. The edited WtF is still there. But both are available for download on her LJ page. :) You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I'm surprised.  I was just on her ffn page a few days ago and I could swear they were both there.  It's better to get the stories off her LJ site though since they are unedited there.

WA's outtakes are still there, but not the story - total shock!  :o I just found that out earlier this week.

And agreed - her LJ site is the better place to get them. :)

Hey there!
I have been wondering, besides the list of reasons given below what can possibly make authors pull their fics?
1. intention of publishing after changing names
2. nc-17 material that is not allowed on ff.net
3. displeasure with your own writing
I mean, after spending so much time on creating beautiful, complete stories, some of them have been removed due to no apparent reason.
Care to enlighten?
Thank you  :)

It's sad to see a great fic go by the wayside, but some writers find their RL are too demanding, like a family member's illness, or getting a master's degree, ( a hubby going oversaes to serve)  and hey, they have to prioritize. I totally get that. Some leave because there is too much drama in the fandom, but more often than not.... they often come back under another moniker. True fax.

Of course, some writers just lose their muse. Writing is hard work, and no matter how much time you spend on it, if you can't see it, chances are, you're in trouble.

Writing a 'satisfying' ending isn't as easy as it looks. Many writers are new, (obvi, bless their talented and fearless hearts) but they get bogged down when they bite off more than they can chew.

Classic mistake: new writers slow death by indecision and then, procrastination, which leads to indifference.  If they have good review numbers, they can get contacted by other writers asking if they need help finishing. Some are too proud of 'their' story, and reject idea of getting someone to help them because it's their 'baby' and they think only they can properly finish it.

The truth is: there are only about 20 plot lines, and having a sounding wall is really good idea to help you find which one 'fits'. If a new writer is just winging it with no outline, well, they can easily (and often do) write themselves into a corner. This is why the first rule of any beginner is have a basic story arch or outline: know where you need to land and aim there. If you end up some where else, that's fine, but at least it was thought through at least once. Also, writers who are more successful are usually those who are open to collaboration and help.

Many do finish, even after a long hiatus, as long as the fandom doesn't get nasty. Look at 'The Vampire In The Basement'. It had a loong hiatus, but she got'er done!

This is why I encourage all of you to support stories in WIP, and not just wait around for finished fics. Support your authors DURING their hard work, and chances are, they will respond positively. PMing rude demands (like some fans do) are more likely to make the writer feel defeated, and close up shop.

Every writer will tell you, the more feedback they get in reviews, the more inclined they feel to make time from their personal lives to write.

Writing can be like love affairs or a new exercise and diet resolution: you always start out excited and with the best intentions, but it's in the long hard dog days of slogging it out that tests a writer's mettle and keeps them out of FFn divorce court. Having a supportive network (reviews and other writers) can make all the difference.

Feral blood has been posted a couple of times on this thread.  I'm not sure if we've come up with the 'unedited' version.  Do a search of this topic (upper right hand corner), take a look at the ones posted and see what you think.

FYI - t****ring over on FF posted 6 stories today - all stolen from other authors.  The author has been reported and apparently thinks it's hilarious that her profile gets so many hits a day.  Not cool at all - this why authors pull their work. :(

This def sounds like a troll.

By forwarding and advertising their name, it sends more and more curious readers and onlookers over, and viola, the Literate Union iz pleased to watch the fandom squawk and twitter and, yes, they have a huge laugh at the way we respond, or over react.

Better to remain silent when it's obvious someone is just trying to make trouble, like obviously stealing SIX stories and posting them at one time. They want people to PM them, so they can find new targets.  :o

Now that you know.... uh... maybe take [trollz] name out of your post?

And don't twitter it! It just feeds them and makes them come back for more negative attention like a bunch of six year olds spoiling for a fight. Better to send them for a nappy-time and hit snooze and ignore them.

Don't feed the trollz....
