Thanks for the link. A lot of the things she says are very true. People often do make fake profiles to hide themselves behind. You hear about sexual predators in chat rooms posing as children all the time. Myspace had a lot of issues with it when it was popular. i remember seeing stories on the news.

The Internet is like real life in that way. I think that most of the people here are genuine and truthful in who they are but that is always that possibility that someone's not what they seem. We all need a healthy dose of precaution in our surfing. One being not ever posting an e-mail address or personal information on a public forum. We have the ability to PM for a reason.

These are the types of things I tell my children all the time when we talk about using the internet safely.  It never ceases to amaze me when I see people, including adults, with home addresses and phone numbers on their facebook profiles.

LOL! Like my husband *shakes head*  He's not stupid normally, just when it comes to the internet.  So annoying since I'm the one who has to fix it.

My husband is the computer geek in the family.  I get anything the least bit suspicious in the way of e-mail or pop-ups or even update notices from our software, I don't push any buttons until my husband has told me which one to push.  But I do know how to lecture my kids on internet safety and give rules for using e-mail/facebook/texting/etc.  My husband has to be the one to put in the blocks and other safeguards though.  Some of those blocks keep me out of sites I want to investigate, too.  Some of the authors' blogs are blocked on my computer because the sites have been deemed p*orn by our safety software.  Imagine that! LOL

No problems and I've been on both the computer & my phone.

I can't log in either...  I enter the code and it directs me back to the please log in page.  I never actually sign out, it just runs out of time for their 3 or 7 days it will keep you logged in. 

I never contacted ff.net about the boycott so I doubt it's that.

Any word on the manyafandom stuff I am looking for? 

In the most current copy of All I Ever Knew Jasper ran away from his parents and went to Edwards because his parents found out he was gay.  They have sex for the first time.
